iOS 9.1 causing app store issues

hello, i have updated my iPhone 6s to IOS 9.1, which claims to fix in issue with app store downloads and game center log in.

strange enough, i started having these issues after the update, i never faced it with IOS 9.0.2. now i'm unable to use the app store for any download, and i can't access game center either. i'm even facing some wifi connectivity issues. so basically, IOS 9.1 gave me the issues that it was supposed to solve 😕

i have tried hard resets and restores, i have lost some valuable data and apps along the way, nothing worked. i'm using iTunes on my macbook to install apps for the time being. but any idea how to fix this ? never in 6 years i faced issues with iPhones. so i guess now apple have broken my virginity.

HI all,

just came back from the apple store. The guy kept me there for about three hours and kindly did everything he could but the problem is still there. we even tried to contact apple icloud and itunes department for cheching id there were problems with my id and everything was ok with my account.

the icloud and itunes department on the phone told me to manually set date/timezone (under the "general" tab in preferences) saying that sometimes it could somehow interferenwith the store but it did't work for me. hope you'll be luckier if you try.

the guy at the apple store told me that the best thing to do is send mails to apple through getsupport.apple.com to aknowledge apple of the problem..

i'm really frustrated and really hope a bugfix would come soon.

good luck everybody

In a strange odd way, it is kind of comforting to find this thread. For the past 10 days I thought I was the only one going through this. And AppleCare on the phone (Middle East) weren't much help. I know that they probably tried their best.

Like many of you, I've never experienced this before with iOS. This update, 9.1 is the most awful.

I had the opportunity to downgrade, it worked, and everything was fine (like 95%), like with all of you. But I was unlikely that my iPhone installed 9.1 again when I was restoring it (because iTunes wasn't synching my owned music), on the same morning Apple stopped signing the 9.0.2 firmware.

The only other solution I found was to install and update the apps manually through iTunes (after deleting them first from iPhone running 9.1). But the problems with the App Store and Apple Music still persist.

Everything that was mentioned here by all users, is exactly what I've been going through.

My question now is, since Apple released iOS 9.2 beta for public, did anyone try it yet? Any improvements?
I read on TechnoBuffalo (I think) that iOS 9.2 will probably get an official public release mid-end November.

I am running the 9.2 beta public release 1 on my iPad and this bug still exists. I have come to the conclusion that this bug only affects certain Apple accounts. I have another Apple account that is not affected with this bug. But I am not able to decipher what is causing the issue on the different account. It may have to do with past purchases or account authentication on apples servers. . Unfortunatley creating a new Apple account is not a solution for this problem since you will lose all you past purchase history. I have never encountered a problem like this one before in my 20 years of using Apple products. I even had a appl customer support membe hang up on me when I tried to get my call elevated. All I can say is we need to do rolling calls to Apple customer support so these issues are addressed soon. I have cancelled my Apple Music subscription since it will not connect. I would recommend the same.

Good news!! As of this point in time, I am having no problems. Last night I hooked my iPhone 6 plus to my Mac. There I updated the 2 Apps I had problems with and reloaded the "sacrificial" App I deleted. These 3 problem apps had update dates of Oct 26, 2015. Before I did all this, I tried 1 more time to do an update on my phone. I received the update yesterday and was pleasantly surprised when it downloaded without a hitch. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks for letting us know because I was lucky enough to go to 9.02 I am not upgrading until theres a fix. This really ***** because I am even scared to upgrade my mac since I was on that beta program to and god forbid the itunes thing goes to there to than I could see it somehow maybe affecting my phone and ipad again. They really need to fix this problem.

So have any of us NOT restored from a backup when upgrading to 9.1? That is, did anybody do a full wipe and restore to 9.1 and then set up as a new iPhone? If so, did you then recreate your previous iPhone (ie, reload all your apps, re-enter all your settings, etc.) and then see if you are still having App Store issues?

Just checking to see if it's worth it to just start from scratch if that may, hopefully, prevent the issue from arising.
