Apple Music not working on iPhone 6 after iOS 9.1

I foolishly updated both iPhone 6 and iPad Mini with the new iOS 9.1 on the day of release, and spent all day yesterday trying to make Apple Music work. around 11pm, it finally worked on my iPad after login/signing on and off for a few hours, today it shows everything fine, but don't play anything. After communicating with Apple Music Help on Twitter I decided to re-install it all on the iPhone 6, hours of the signing on and off frozen, Apple Music on the phone shows For You, New and Connect OK, but won't play, Radio doesn't load at all and My Music is empty, not linking to my Music Match on ICloud. Now (Saturday 16:26), I can only listen to my music and Beats 1 from my main MacBook Pro... I definitely think this iOS 9.1 is a massive mistake. I am trying to reset my iPhone from scratch as I type this, backing it up from the Cloud from 3 days ago, but I launched this 1 hour ago and it still does nothing.... Not very convenient to do the Beats Run tomorrow if I need to png in my laptop in a rucksack as no small device is usable.

MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Turning airplane mode on then off after a reboot definitely did something. I was able to update all the apps that needed updating - the first time since this iOS 9.1 bug appeared. Previously purchases partially downloaded (again more than I had managed previously). But I wasn't able to complete the download, nor purchase any new apps. And no luck with Apple Music loading. So definitely the start of the solution, but for me it wasn't the complete solution.

Such a fascinating bug. The Airplane Mode fix worked for a while, then everything went back the way it was. That was on my iPhone 6S Plus. On the other hand, my iPad 4 and iPhone 4S are working fairly well. The problem isn't about Apple not recognizing my ID and login. It works on iCloud, it works on this web site. The 9.1 bug seems mostly to be about the inability to hold on to the login data over time. One of the things I've noticed is that when things are working well, the login screen knows my account name. When things are wanky, I get a dialogue box with two boxes where I need to supply my account name (sometimes it is written in, but can be edited) and password. My best guess is that the bug is living in some cache that keeps the ID and login data. Hopefully, the programmers will be able to find and squish it. There are no workarounds to this electronic forgetfulness. That's because we've done everything right. My two cents.

I posted when the thread was back at about 5 pages and I rebooted my phone and I got itunes music to work.

But it only worked for 2 days , Now it is back not playing in my vehicle like before. I have to keep my phone in my lap to hit the play button every time I get into the car or change modes. It used to auto play the last song but not anymore.

All this since iTunes 9.1. update. Never had any problems like this with iTunes music since the iphone 2. Sure hope they get it back to working properly again.

Just want to contribute since I've been following this thread. Went to the Apple Store today after being on Apple Support for 3 hours with a senior adviser Sunday night (Janet, she was helpful but hadn't heard of the issue). Emailed her today explaining the issue with a link to this thread. Apple Store had heard of the "Apple ID problem" and said there's not much they could do. They gave me a new 6 plus with 8.4.1 on it and it's working fine. Also comped me a new screen protector (nice of them). Not going to update until someone confirms the problem is fixed. Just ***** because I can't pair my Watch with it because my Watch needs ios 9. Good news is the Genius is escalating the issue to engineering.

WWhat I think fascinating is that people are still being told by some Apple support that they never heard of the issues, fascinating too that this thread is the only mention of the problems when you Google it! So far, my IPad has been running Ok since last night, the IPhone is still not doing anything...

The day that I went to the apple store on Oct. 27th, the genius mentioned that it was an apple ID problem. I didn't want to believe him but when I spoke to John from Apple Support, it all made sense. This really is a huge inconvenience since I use my phone and iPad mini for school. I wasn't able to post any photos on Instagram or post snaps on snapchat during the weekend for halloween. Yesterday made a week dealing with this and at this point, I'm considering switching to android even though all of my products are from Apple.

The only thing right now that temporarily fixes the issue for me is logging out when the freeze happens, turning my phone off and back on, then logging back in.

Works for the length of an album or playlist, then I have to repeat the process.

Updating apps works sometimes.

We're in this together! I understand mistakes happen, I'm just hoping for a quick Apple ID fix!

People, please understand, this is not about apple ID BUG!!! it's about Apple Music BUG when you are not willing to upgrade or continue with the service, talk to a costumer support by CHAT, they will ask you for your IMEI, and there's where the magic begins, right now I'm with a ugly stock iPhone on 9.1 and everything is running nice and smooth, music, apps, photos, force YOUR device to get into DFU mode after gets stuck trying to erase everything from it, of course don't forget to do a backup inside of iTunes first, and then wipeout YOUR device, after that, set YOUR iPhone as a new on YOUR device, sync your music first, and then restore from your backup, so in that way you are lock to Apples will. it's that simple.

Sorry to contradict you MethozS402but you are wrong: this is an Apple ID bug. I am a very happy paying customer of Apple Music, my subscription is up to date, and it works back to normal on my iPad which was dead as my phone for a week, and perfectly on my MacBook as well... Stop putting the blame on Apple Music: there is nothing wrong with it, as we all agreed along this thread, the fault is in IOS 9.1... All the other products I have running without IOS 9.1 are absolutely fine.
