Apple Music not working on iPhone 6 after iOS 9.1

I foolishly updated both iPhone 6 and iPad Mini with the new iOS 9.1 on the day of release, and spent all day yesterday trying to make Apple Music work. around 11pm, it finally worked on my iPad after login/signing on and off for a few hours, today it shows everything fine, but don't play anything. After communicating with Apple Music Help on Twitter I decided to re-install it all on the iPhone 6, hours of the signing on and off frozen, Apple Music on the phone shows For You, New and Connect OK, but won't play, Radio doesn't load at all and My Music is empty, not linking to my Music Match on ICloud. Now (Saturday 16:26), I can only listen to my music and Beats 1 from my main MacBook Pro... I definitely think this iOS 9.1 is a massive mistake. I am trying to reset my iPhone from scratch as I type this, backing it up from the Cloud from 3 days ago, but I launched this 1 hour ago and it still does nothing.... Not very convenient to do the Beats Run tomorrow if I need to png in my laptop in a rucksack as no small device is usable.

MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

"We're in this together! I understand mistakes happen, I'm just hoping for a quick Apple ID fix!": Quite right xjasonmiller: I will never give up on Apple products, and their customer service (even if they can't fix the issues right now, but hey, they are "Customer service" NOT Technicians or Developers...) are the nicest and the most patient people I happen to deal with.

Note: I initially called the subject of this thread "Apple Music not working on iPhone 6 after iOS 9.1" because that was the first problem I was experiencing, now I am positive it is Apple ID, IOS 9.1, hyperlinks in emails, and impossibility to download/update apps... Apple Music RULES! I wish there was a way to change the subject tag!

Apple's customer service is awesome. I've spend hours on the phone with them and they're the best. They deserve raises and i've told them that several times for reassuring me while dealing with this issue. Now, as far as what we're all dealing with, it shouldn't be an issue. Too many "new" updates all released within a matter of weeks from each other. I use my apple products for school, work, and almost everything else. I'm trying to have patience but it is a huge inconvenience. Not only can I not update/download apps, most apps that are on my phone are older versions and I can't use them. Fingers crossed that the iOS 9.2 update fixes all of our problems.

well, in my case wasnt like that, I was on 8.4 before jumping to 9.1, and on 9.1 the problems started, 2 day after, I downgrade to 9.0.2, and the issues continued, after a week, I chat we customer support and the suggestion was, erase everything inside iPhone, then restore and update to 9.1! while the erase process was running my iPhone got stuck, and I was force to put it on DFU, connect it to iTunes and Restore and update, set like a new device, and voilà! back to ios 9.1 sync issue all fix!.

To dark for me!

It's really strange that Apple has only heard about this problem recently. As I wrote here before, the first time this happened to me was in version 8.4.1. The most frustrating in all this is to know that not even a new iDevice will solve this supposed "Apple ID bug". As someone wrote here, right now my iPhone is a brick: Game Center does not work, Apple Music freezes constantly, Beats1 never works, apps are not updated and the links in the emails do not open. Regarding the Apple Music, it should be noted that the problems only occur on iOS. On my Mac everything works perfectly.

Hi All,

I am having the same issue. From India. App Store doesn't show the 'Update' / 'Open' button against the apps. All the apps are shown with 'cloud with arrow' point (for those that are already installed). Apple Music stops playing. I get 'An error occured' in the For You page. Download doesn't happen. Music will not play via the USB cable with my car stereo. In short, everything that I really need in an Apple phone gets stuck. And all this, coz I updated to iOS 9.1!

I have done resets, switched it off and on several times.

It works intermittently.. The longest it worked was for full 2 days ... and then one morning I woke up again to everything stuck. Right now, it's functional, but for all long, is anyone's guess?!

I truly hope Apple comes out with a solution fast. Else, my new iPhone 6S is such a disaster!

Has anyone noticed that if you log out of ITunes store and restart, the ability to download app updates and use email links returns? The problem seems to me to be a combination of 9.1 and being signed into the iTunes/App store. As long as I remain signed out of the App Store my app updates have been coming through. Of course, I'm still screwed if I want to stream music or buy an app though. Just wondering if others have noticed this. What is so strange is why this bug affects so few of us. What is it about OUR particular Apple IDs that is causing this conflict. The vast majority of users who have updated to iOS 9.1 obviously aren't having any problems with this at all. If they were there would be a huge uproar all over the internet. This seems to only be affecting only a tiny fraction of 9.1 users. That's why support people seem so unfamiliar with it. Very strange.

Super weird - it's now been 24 hours since I tried the "hard reboot - turn on airplane mode - turn off airplane mode" trick and I've had no issues since then - app store/game center/email/music all working 100% normally. Sounds like for other people the trick isn't as successful, which is disappointing. Anyway here's hoping that Apple has some sort of 9.1.1 patch coming our way soon.

All suggested workaround here still don't work for me. For the newcomers I suggest that you do a backread. This is not only about  Music. This really is an apple id bug. As per smnlo apple should have a way of changing the topic of this thread. Anyway, still waiting patienly for a fix so that I can download all my purchased contents again. For the meantime. I'm still using my new apple id which works very well without any problems. I can update apps and download offline music. And the best part! I can click on links on email.
