I wasted the better part of my day on the phone with Apple Support, even speaking with the clearly overworked Sr. Support person, to try and resolve this issue. My iPhone 6s plus was restored to factory settings as a new phone, though nobody suggested going back to the older version of the OS. The issue didn't occur until I updated to the current iOS, 9.1. Now my phone is like a new phone, and somehow my backup on the iCloud and my computer in iTunes got overwritten or erased. And I get to wait until Friday which is the earliest I can get an appt at the Apple Store 40 minutes away, so unless The Apple store hands me a new phone with all my contacts, apps and data installed from a magical backup, and can turn back time so that I can regain my work day (or compensate me for lost income), I'm looking another half day at least of trying to get this fixed. But enough griping, here are the symptoms:
- No songs that I put into "My Music" appear, and only the 3 playlists I created appear, empty.
- I can't log into Apple Music if I log out, which I've tried to see if it would make my music appear.
- A hard reset (pressing the side and home buttons at the same time) will sometimes let me log in and play a song, but nothing appears in my "My Music" sections except for the 3 (now appearing empty) playlists I created. This worked very intermittently(like maybe 3 times) in my own debugging process and with Apple tech support over the phone.
- Sometimes after a reset Apple Music suggests that I "join" even though I am a subscriber, and even when I am logged into my account.
- Game Center won't come up, period. Possibly related, but I'm not sure. I questioned whether there's an authentication issue because of the persistent login issues.
- Two games I recently paid for via the iTunes store won't move past the developer splash screen.
- My payment method is accurate. I checked and Apple Music works fine on my laptop, with all of my songs and playlists in the "My Music" section, so I don't believe it's an issue with my payment method.
Seems odd to me that these are the first reports of this, as I've been having the issues since Monday night, less than 24 hours since the iOS was updated on my phone, and I put off updating for a few days. Apple Support claims that they have had no calls about this issue but mine.
Is there a way to go back to iOS 9.0, as everything seemed to work fine before this update? Thank you!
