Apple Music not working on iPhone 6 after iOS 9.1

I foolishly updated both iPhone 6 and iPad Mini with the new iOS 9.1 on the day of release, and spent all day yesterday trying to make Apple Music work. around 11pm, it finally worked on my iPad after login/signing on and off for a few hours, today it shows everything fine, but don't play anything. After communicating with Apple Music Help on Twitter I decided to re-install it all on the iPhone 6, hours of the signing on and off frozen, Apple Music on the phone shows For You, New and Connect OK, but won't play, Radio doesn't load at all and My Music is empty, not linking to my Music Match on ICloud. Now (Saturday 16:26), I can only listen to my music and Beats 1 from my main MacBook Pro... I definitely think this iOS 9.1 is a massive mistake. I am trying to reset my iPhone from scratch as I type this, backing it up from the Cloud from 3 days ago, but I launched this 1 hour ago and it still does nothing.... Not very convenient to do the Beats Run tomorrow if I need to png in my laptop in a rucksack as no small device is usable.

still complete disaster on all fronts: Iphone can't log in my Apple Id linked to the store, so no Itunes, no apps, I guess this is what makes Apple Music not working, can't reibstall old apps. Links in emails not redirected to briwser. Ipad, same...

now, at lunch time my main Mac was working fine and suddenly Itunes froze... I had to exit shut the computer, and left.

i have an appointment at an Apple shop on saturday, will bring all 3 machines, and won't leave until I am sure that all 3 are working perfectly.

They better fix tgat mess, all caused by their Ios9.1... Not a hapoy bunny at all.

Same issue here. I can't download new apps or update old ones. Apple Music works if I log out and reset my phone, then log back in. Granted, it only works for like 30 minutes before I have to repeat the process.

I wonder how long it'll be before we get an update...

I really just want to throw my iPhone at the wall, but I know that won't solve anything. 😟

Yeah, I've been having those problems sometimes too. I've used iTunes on my Mac to force apps to update, but Music still doesn't work for me.

I called AppleCare, and they had me do a restore. The music played, but soon enough after the call, it stopped working consistently again, I couldn't download songs offline, and I eventually couldn't get my iCloud Library to sync after logging out.

It broke for me after 9.1, and since then I've kept searching the internet for an answer. All I find on different forums is the same issues, with no solutions.

I synced my iPhone with my MacBook Pro and it fixed this issue. Hopefully it'll work for you too,

You mean that you simply plugged it in, and pressed sync in iTunes? If so, I've incidentally done this a ton of times, and it hasn't work( though in theory it should).

None of these makes sense to me. Worst part is, I'm not the average consumer Apple tries to make this simple enough for. There lies a big problem.

Seems odd to me that these are the first reports of this, as I've been having the issues since Monday night, less than 24 hours since the iOS was updated on my phone, and I put off updating for a few days. Apple Support claims that they have had no calls about this issue but mine.

Too funny, they told me the exact same thing when I called them Tuesday night with identical issues. Having all of the issues you listed, as well as an issue with my backup, was told by a technician to wipe and restore from an iCloud backup and the backup came back with half of my data missing, which has never happened before. At this point I can't even turn iCloud backup back on through my phone.

I even tried logging in on a factory reset iPhone 5 I had lying around, all of the same issues. It's the Apple ID. Eagerly waiting for resolution, my phone is more or less a brick without ability to stream Apple Music, play Game Center games and download apps. I can still surf the internet on Safari.....for now.

NO complain about customer service either. By "magic", it all started to be ok on my Ipad at 12:30, lunch time UK. Apple Music working and my Icloud library back up with all my playlists. Iphone still dead on that front. Which means that Apple Music is NOT faulty, it is the Apple ID, which might be much worse... Feell free all of you to print this thread, as I do to arrive "equipped " at my appointment on saturday....in case they claim that nobody has mentioned the issue since tge IOS update (for me it went wrong Friday morning)

Called Apple support. My Apple ID looked fine. They still believe it's a hardware issue.

I'm not tech savvy in the slightest, but just trying to game this out. I've been able to replicate the identical issue on multiple devices, and dozens of people seem to be having the same issue on all of their separate devices, though Apple won't officially acknowledge it yet. If this is truly a hardware issue then it looks like Apple has a fairly large issue to sort out with some defective iPhones. That seems unlikely to me though.

I'd like to think Apple would offer some sort of credit to people who are paying for Apple Music (my free trial is over) but aren't able to use it, but not holding my breath.

I have the kind of the same issue but on 5s, iTunes sync apps, notes, contacts, ringtones, but don't my own music storage in my pc, and my trial already expire, so I don't think is a hardware problem, maybe it's the "Next BIG Thing" to get 10 dollars out of your pocket!!, also when I reach support they ask me "what do you planing to do with your music library??"... kind of weird question if you ask me.

PS: I already try every single way across internet to transfer my Library to my iPhone, with 0 results, I missing the old Music app.

Just throwing my hat in the ring: After upgrading my 6 plus to ios 9.1 about a week ago Apple Music 'For You' and 'New' screens looks normal but nothing will play. MY Music Library and Playlists are suddenly empty of content. Third party apps now freeze up as soon as they are opened. I can no longer open links in emails. I Have tried rebooting and resetting and signing out and in to cloud and itunes numerous times to no avail.

From the progression of this thread, I definitely think that Apple Music is NOT faulty, as it works perfectly on my main MacBook Pro, with all my music from the iCloud Match as well. It is the Apple ID, that is not login in or recognised on either iPhone 6 and iPad Mini which might be much worse... I don't think it is a Hardware issue either, both my devices were working perfectly before I did the IOS 9.1 update last Friday morning, at the same time on both devices, my iPad is 2 years old and the iPhone 6, I got from my phone carrier mid September, so is brand new. I will keep you all posted after my visit to the Apple store tomorrow. Yesterday, it started to work all fine on the iPad for 20 minutes, then re-asked me to login my Apple Id, then Join Apple Music, then all was visible (including my own Music from the Cloud, but none was playing) and Beats 1 was loading (sometimes) but not playing. Again all is perfect on the Mac Book so it is an IOS massive issue...

For tomorrow I printed all our conversation and will show it at the Apple shop, including the messages I had on Twitter last Saturday with Apple Music help. I start to think that we are not enough in number to reflect the issue massively online... Maybe it was a bug at the exact time we all downloaded the IOS update...

I strongly believe this is an iOS 9.1 issue. I already downgraded my phone back to 9.0.2 and everything is working fine again. This is really an isolated case because we're only a few experiencing the problem. I just really hope fingers crossed that the apple store you're going to can escalate this to the iOS team in Cupertino. By the way, I'm from the Philippines.
