Apple Music not working on iPhone 6 after iOS 9.1

I foolishly updated both iPhone 6 and iPad Mini with the new iOS 9.1 on the day of release, and spent all day yesterday trying to make Apple Music work. around 11pm, it finally worked on my iPad after login/signing on and off for a few hours, today it shows everything fine, but don't play anything. After communicating with Apple Music Help on Twitter I decided to re-install it all on the iPhone 6, hours of the signing on and off frozen, Apple Music on the phone shows For You, New and Connect OK, but won't play, Radio doesn't load at all and My Music is empty, not linking to my Music Match on ICloud. Now (Saturday 16:26), I can only listen to my music and Beats 1 from my main MacBook Pro... I definitely think this iOS 9.1 is a massive mistake. I am trying to reset my iPhone from scratch as I type this, backing it up from the Cloud from 3 days ago, but I launched this 1 hour ago and it still does nothing.... Not very convenient to do the Beats Run tomorrow if I need to png in my laptop in a rucksack as no small device is usable.

MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Maybe it was a bug at the exact time we all downloaded the IOS update...

Real quick just want to rule this out, when I restored my old iPhone 5 (as opposed to the 6S Plus, the phone that initially had the problem) I had to download 9.1 as new (old phone was still running iOS 7) and same issues.

I am in the US, so not just an issue in the UK!

Thank you! I thought I was going mad! I am positive that it is IOS9.1, I chickened out about downgrading as it was implying a third party thing... I should have done it, I hope that someone at the shop has the authority and knowledge to access the hidden codes to resolve it or give me a free new phone and iPad WITHOUT IOS9.1. Apple Music is not to blame.

Apple Stops Signing iOS 9.0.2, Downgrading From iOS 9.1 No Longer Possible

Thursday October 29, 2015 3:33 PM PDT by Juli Clover

As of today, Apple has stopped signing iOS 9.0.2 for compatible iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch models, meaning users can no longer upgrade or downgrade to that version of iOS using iTunes. Apple is now signing iOS 9.1 and later only.

"Apple has released the first beta build of iOS 9.2 to users participating in the developer beta and public beta testing program. iOS 9.2 beta 1 arrives as build number 13C5055d and is available for all iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices that are compatible with iOS 9.

"Release notes accompanying the download suggest the update will focus on bug fixes with some minor new features and adjustments."

I have had the same issue the last two days. I have restored multiple times, called AppleCare, and tried every recommendation.

My "Apple Music" toggle switch is gone from Music now and the music app just says "Loading Library". I cannot open the Radio tab.

I also cannot update apps on my iPhone.

AppleCare advisor want me to take my phone to a Genius on Monday. I don't think they know what is going on yet

Same here. My Music stopped working in my 2014 BMW X5 thru my iphone 6. It has worked flawlessly until 9.1. Now it wont play unless I hit the play button on the phone. Nor can I switch songs like before. It is horrible now. To use it in my vehicle I have to keep the phone on my lap and go to it to chose songs or to play when I first get in.as it pulls up the iphone and the song but it wont start playing the song. It is paused. After I hit play it plays the song and then the next song but if I want to play 3 down from that one - no way.

It is so messed up I hate it now.

Help anyone??

I experience the same issue on my iPhone 4S. Everything was fine until I installed iOS 9.1, after this upgrade(?) Apple Music will always quite a few seconds after launching without letting you do anything. I cannot play a single song - immediately the screen gets all black and when you click on the home button you are right back to the home screen. This ABSOLUTELY FREAKS ME OUT! I cannot make use of my Apple Music Abo, I cannot use my phone for my own music - this is a true nightmare. I went through several restart cycles of my phone - no change.

When I got home OI rebooted my phone to see if that would help and the next time I got in my vehicle it worked like normal!! It seemed to revert back to what I had working OK with the 9.0.2 I think it was, before 9.1. So it seems all is back to normal. I haven't spent much time playing with it to see if I could go to the list of music in the car and pick from there. Hopefully that is working alright too now.

Rebooting seems to work on so many levels of computing - I thought I would give it a try.

Hopefully all is well.

I think you are on 9.0.2. There was an update just 2 days ago to 9.1. But I am glad its working for you too.

No, I'm on 9.2. But regardless, I think that has little to do with my success yesterday. Today, my downloads are back to no longer downloading, sadly.

I had a funny feeling that it wouldn't last. Streaming still works fine though, and my offline music stayed offline, after downloading a few playlists last night.

Not sure what broke it again.

Anyway, when I try to download tracks, they queue up, and the downloads never move.

Nearly time to go to my appointment at the shop. If any of you have time and agree, post the link to this thread on your Facebook/Twitter pages, with the relevant hashtags, post on Apple Care Facebook page or wherever you can find where you can post this thread. As someone mentioned earlier on this discussion, I think we are not enough people to have the problems to have been noticed ny Apple yet, so the more "noise", the more likely we are to be heard by someone at Apple Cupertino....

Status one week on: MacBook Pro: Perfect BECAUSE it has nothing to do with IOS 9.1, Apple ID verified and fully working, Apple Music perfect, I Cloud Match perfect too....

Iphone 6 and Ipad Mini: No working hyperlinks in emails, Apple Music as good as DEAD...

Reading some of the responses here makes me think if this is really an apple id bug. And yes it is indeed. Now everything is working the way it is suppose to be. Now I'm glad I'm on 9.1.

What I did is just simply update it to 9.1 since I went back to 9.0.2.

If you already on 9.1 and still experiencing the problem, just logout all your apple id. (iCloud, iTunes, iMessage, FaceTime). Reboot. Then login your apple id on all the services you use.

Glad to have found this thread. Same issues for days. Also, my car wouldn't let me play through USB (error "Unsupported") although it did work via Bluetooth. Went back to iOS 9.0.2 and everything worked fine (App Store, Music) except for the Health app which was DOA. Upgraded again, same problems. There is a workaround: Sign out of the App Store and turn the phone on and off. This is the only way my car USB will recognize the iPhone.

Can't buy apps or listen to Music. But I've got Pandora and Spotify and I can add new apps through iTunes on my iMac. Hope Apple is paying attention and will get this fixed. After all, the revenue stream from apps and music is being impaired. That should catch somebody's eye.
