Apple Music not working on iPhone 6 after iOS 9.1

I foolishly updated both iPhone 6 and iPad Mini with the new iOS 9.1 on the day of release, and spent all day yesterday trying to make Apple Music work. around 11pm, it finally worked on my iPad after login/signing on and off for a few hours, today it shows everything fine, but don't play anything. After communicating with Apple Music Help on Twitter I decided to re-install it all on the iPhone 6, hours of the signing on and off frozen, Apple Music on the phone shows For You, New and Connect OK, but won't play, Radio doesn't load at all and My Music is empty, not linking to my Music Match on ICloud. Now (Saturday 16:26), I can only listen to my music and Beats 1 from my main MacBook Pro... I definitely think this iOS 9.1 is a massive mistake. I am trying to reset my iPhone from scratch as I type this, backing it up from the Cloud from 3 days ago, but I launched this 1 hour ago and it still does nothing.... Not very convenient to do the Beats Run tomorrow if I need to png in my laptop in a rucksack as no small device is usable.

MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Another blind shot...

COULD THIS BE because I had TWO SEPARATE id's for App Store/Itunes and iCloud ???

I now entered my original App store id into the iCloud....strangely it took it....

And it seems to be working ...though it's only 10 minutes into it... Keeping Fingers Crossed

UPDATE : Well, it was too good to be true...and it proved that... the **** thing broke again today 😟😢(not even breaking my previous full 3-day record)

Hi guys,

My new Apple ID from @icloud.com is working perfectly since last week, when I decided to migrate a new account (here: Re: Apple Music not working on iPhone 6 after iOS 9.1). Unfortunatelly i know that many of us have a thousand dollars on regular ID, but i still think that issue envolves gmail's ID. My brother and, now, my sister with gmail's IDs have the same issue since Nov 1st.

I would like to say that I feel bad for us, costumers and fans, for this. Apple must to see and hear us.

Until then, i hope that you can fix it. I follow this thread in case the someone discover something relevant to fix all this issues (apple music, emails, icloud library...) (so i can probably fix my old ID).

Regards and sorry for my bad english, i dont speak english. 😐

Just wanted to give everyone some feedback. I spent over an hour on the phone early this morning with a senior tech support agent for iOS devices. We tried everything! Needless to say he was able to speak with on of the 12-13 software engineers, he said this was pure luck to get one on the phone. They are aware that this issue is affecting a small number of people and 9.2 should correct this issue. Hopefully this helps everyone in the meantime so we don't have to waste anymore time if Apple now knows about the problem.

Just got off the phone with a senior engineer over at Apple (they called me).

Gave her all the details, and she says they are aware of this and the other thread.

She is speculating it might have something to do with 2-factor authentication. She was showing that I have it turned on, even though I don't. It actually makes sense if it's looking for something that doesn't exist.

We will be testing further tomorrow on an iPhone I have at work I can test with.

This is promising at least.

OMG, ktorster,

Can it really be that simple? I just went to my Apple ID and turned off two-step verification. Logged out of my son’s ID and back into mine. Didn’t work at first, but after a reset everything began to go well on my iPhone 6S Plus (running the version I got busted for mentioning):

1. App Store working correctly and recognizing my purchases.

2. Apple Music working correctly (including iCloud Music Library / iTunes Match).

3. Pandora works.

4. Frozen Free Fall works.

5. My car, an Acura TLX, now recognizes the iPhone (used to say “Unsupported”).

Have some iPads but won’t mess with them for now until after I see whether this fix holds and starts working for a substantial number of people on this thread.

Hope we are getting close to a green checkmark. I’ve almost got a smile on my face.

Haha, was just coming here to say it worked for me too, but now I know it won't last (though I strongly suspected that it wouldn't anyway). I actually didn't have two factor turned on, so I turned it on, turned it off, logged in to the busted Apple ID on my 6S Plus, nothing was working, rebooted, oddly things didn't work for about five minutes then very suddenly started working. Super weird. Anyway gonna buy some new games and click some email links while things are working, gotta make hay while the sun is shining.

Honestly I'm just glad to hear the engineers are working on it. At this point it's been four weeks, and as frustrating as this has been I'd rather they take whatever extra time it takes to permanently eradicate this bug without creating any other major issues.
