iPad Pro System Sounds Abnormally Low

I've played around with the volume slder in Sounds setting screen but only get a momentary improvement in these sounds - lock sound, keyboard clicks, sent mail, various alerts. I'm on the release software (9.1). Listening to music or videos is terrific, the speaker system is amazing. But those system sounds remain extremely low even with the volume slider and side buttons adjusted to max. I've restarted and force restarted with no change. I feel that this must be software related since I can get the full volume from those sounds momentarily but as soon as I leave the settings app they're back to extremely low.

Hhas anyone else run into this and/or found a resolution?

I would take that into Apple and replace the iPad Pro. The update should have fixed it. One of my friends had the same issue. He restored it and since it will load the latest version of the iOS it worked because the bug wasn't there from the previous 9.1. Give that shot. Remember do not restore the back up or the problem will just come back.

I purchased this iPad from the Apple website, because there is no Apple Store anywhere near me. After the pain and hassle it took to get all my photos and data transferred to it I don't want to go through all that again with another one. Thing is the speakers sound great when playing music or videos, etc. It is only the notification alert sounds that are the problem. I do agree it is a software issue....so that begs the question....why did 9.2 seem to fix it for some but not for others, like me? It is disappointing to pay over $1200 for something and have it need fixing right out of the box. My old iPad 2 had gotten so bogged down by IOS 9 that it was frustrating to use anymore. I was looking forward to a faster iPad with a processor worthy of IOS 9, and indeed that it is. But the alert sounds are important to many of us, so why make a fix that only works for some? Frustrating!

I was still having the low volume issue with iOS 9.2 installed, so since getting this post back in my email, I decided just for a test, to try a normal hard reset of my iPad Pro.

THAT seemed to do the trick for me.

I now have much louder alert sounds, now.

The initial install didn't fix this until I just tried the hard reset.

Try this, first, before doing a complete backup and restore of your iPad Pro.

Excellent!

🙂

This may sound simple, but you would not believe the amount of people that missed it. In case you are one, it can't hurt to try it. Using one finger swipe up from the bottom. Is the mute alert button lit up? If so touch it, enjoy your sounds. Yes it's new and many have not found it, but i hope your problem is that simple...

Why would that work? The alert sounds were low right out of the box. That would merely take me right back to square one. Plus...i can't afford to pay for enough iCloud storage to back up a 128 gb iPad, and we all know that backing up to iTunes on a computer hasn't worked since IOS 7. Nothing I can do except wait for another IOS update and hope it works then.

Really???!!!...

I been able to backup ALL of my iDevices to iTunes on my computer just fine!

My iPad 2, 3, Pro and 6th iPod Touch ALL backup and restore to iTunes with no issues with latest version of iTunes.

There is nothing "broken"about this method of sync and backup.

As a matter of fact, I advise iDevice/iOS users to use their computers and iTunes to do critical OS/iOS upgrades/updates than performing these Over The Air using WiFi as Wifi/ Over The Air data streaming can have variables and issues causing erroneous and/or corrupted data, data drop outs from weak WiFi signals or slow streaming speeds, etc.

You have already filled up your 128 GB iPad Pro already?...

I bought a 128 GB also, but I have configured this iPad to use just as a portable artistic, creative drawing and painting tablet/tool.

I have not put any movies on this iPad (my movies reside either on my computer or my portable WiFi drive) only my absolute favorite music and NOT my entire music library ( my entire music library resides on my 64 GB, 6th gen iPod Touch as this goes everywhere with me) and I pared down apps to only the ones I feel I need to have on this device.

I have almost 80 GBs of free space to go.

Wow!

If your iPad Pro is that filled already, maybe you should consider a portable WiFi storage device, like the New Sandisk Wifi wireless USB flash drive stick.

It comes in 16,32,64 or 128 GB storage sizes and works really well with Apple iDevices.

If your not gonna listen we can't help you. It's not an update problem, the last update fixed it. Do the restore! if that don't work you need a replacement. plain and simple!
