Ipad Pro shuts off while charging and requires a hard reset to turn on

Hello,

I got my iPad Wednesday, spent the evening getting it all setup. Restored from back up, ensured everything was there, wiped my iPad air 2 (sold it), deleted it's back up and went on with my normal routine.

At night it was down to 40% so I charged it and went to bed. When I woke up it was "dead". It wouldn't wake up. I needed to perform a hard reset to get it to come to life. Worked on it for a couple of hours and had to run an errand. Plugged it back in as I was going to need a full charge later that day. Came back to it, same thing. Dead. I needed to perform a hard reset to get it to turn on.

Used it more, then last night plugged it in and this morning, same thing. I am thinking that there is an issue with this iPad.

I am now restoring it, since that it what online support recommended I try. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

Thanks.

iPad, iOS 9.1, This is an iPad Pro

Air plane mode didn't solve the problem for me. Then I did a full swipe and restored the iPad pro as new. After 8 hours of recharge it could wake up without any problem. I left the charging cable in and put it to sleep again. Two hours later the iPad had restarted in its sleep as I had to login using my code and not could use the fingerprint reader. 128 GB LTE.

Overnight Airplane mode makes no difference, still hard reset needed to wake up the iPad.

THis is is ridiculous Apple, on a premium product you should have picked this up before shipping. It's not as if recharging the product was some obscure action, at least give us some official notice that you're aware of this and Working on a solutiom.

Not pleased about this at all.

AAfter reading a number of threads, I saw that someone had success by turning off the Handoff button. After two days of being forced to do a hard reset, last night I charged overnight and no problems this morning. Don't know if this is the solution and will try again tonight. Obviously it as a poor solution as you lose functionality but until Apple gets this straightened out. Will post again tomorrow after seeing what happens tonight.

I posted yesterday that using my Apple TV 4 cable worked, and I can indeed confirm that my iPad pro did not lock up when charged to 100% and let sit for more than 5 hours plugged in. I am using iOS 9.1. Since some people are saying handoff, and others saying airplane mode, it very well may be a software issue, but just want people to know, that I have left those items on and had success now multiple times using a different cable than the one that shipped with my iPad pro. If you have tried turning handoff off and airplane mode off and are still having problems, you may want to try the different cable option. That may also be why some people are seeing the issue with one iPad out of the two that they bought.

i am going to see if I can get it to lock up with my ipad pro cable, and then see if I plug in my Apple TV cable if that will actually pull it out of it's locked up state. Will let people know later today what the outcome is.

ipad pro, no case, no cover, Bluetooth on, wifi on, no lte activated yet. (Gold lte version 128GB).

Also I have had nightmode turned on and off and that doesn't seem to affect the Apple TV cable charging it and not locking it up, and I had mail and safari running this last time as well. I've had the lockups with the shipped iPad pro cable with apps running, and without apps running. So far I believe it to be a faulty cable, or iOS 9.1 hasn't been programmed to deal with the shipped cable properly, or a combination of that. I'm not sure why the apple Tv cable is working properly while the longer iPad pro one isn't, but it is.
