iPad pro screen cracked!

cant believe less than 24 hours after buying my iPad pro, left it by the side of the bed and in the morning accidentally knocked my watch off the bed table (an I watch at that!) and the 2ft drop was big enough to crack the screen! Beware as I've had 3 iPads in the past that have taken much abuse and never cracked a screen, the iPad pro is very flimsy and has a weak screen!!!!!!!!

I bought it for my husband for xmas on 21st Dec, and gave it to him Xmas day, but boxing day it has a crack from camera to left side. We did NOT drop it and placed it straight into a protective case, and we can only figure that the case itself (made of plastic) has exerted enough pressure on it to cause the screen to crack in 1 place then another….. Apple wanted me to pay 80% of the cost to replace it, this is all within a 5-day period. I def think there are some serious quality issue. Is one meant to "wrap the device up in cotton wool"?

Interesting your December experience, because mine was very much like yours. I couldn't get my cover for the iPad pro until last week. By then I travelled already halfway around the globe and all went fine.

Last week tuesday I finally got the pen and iPad cover and was a happy man.

Worked the afternoon with an iPad perfectly suited to my needs.

When I came back in the evening I still watched a bit of movies and then placed the iPad on the desk. As far as I know I closed the cover.

Next morning I saw a crack starting at the upper right corner, going all the way to the left.

No damage on the metal, but yes it looked as if a tiny thing must have hit it, or TENSION IN THE glass together with the aluminum cause it.

I am not aware that anything could have caused it. It did not fall or had any pressure from my side and I didn't see anything during the whole afternoon or evening.

When I brought it to apple support they claimed that it was damaged by external forces.

1. Does anyone have the same experience?

2. Is there a potential info about tensions in the glass of the iPad pro leading to spontaneous breakage?

Whoever has heard about it, please let me know. I was considering using some more iPad pro's for my office, but it might be a bit too expensive if the glass has known issues and has to be replaced all the time.

Interesting and very timely that I found your post.

My iPad Pro is also just about one month old. In the past I've had an iPhone 3,4,5,6, iPad, IPad Air 2 and I've never had a scratch let alone a crack screen.

In just this short time of owning the Pro at $1079.00 which also spends 99% on my bed to use at night while watching TV.

Yet it has not one, but 2 cracks that are VERY clean and hardly noticeable.

What is most frastrating is Apple's reluctance to discuss this issue and another I"m having with the iPHone 6 in writing.

In fact, while discussing my cracked iPad Pro screen with Apple, stated on the phone to me, "We will help you with your iPad if you work with us on the iPhone". What did she mean? The message was clear, we will fix your screen if you stop complaining about your iPhone 6.

iPhone 6 has Bluetooth issues with the LG Headset and Beats (which I got directly from Apple For my iPhone)

Sad that Apple refuses to help fight the war on Terror and now refuses to stand behind their products.

I've had the exact same issue. Mine is encased in a hard shell logitech cover and woke up he other day and there's a small crack in the bottom right corner, I havent dropped it or anything. It just appeared. I'm taking it back to the store to discuss repair. I don;t think the glass is of merchantible quality and Apple should fix this for free.

I Have the same experience. Mine is just 2 weeks old. I have not dropped it, placed anything on it, and no one else has used it. The crack appeared last night. It starts in the upper left hand corner and extends to the right side about 3 inches above the bottom Of the screen. My case is the Targus Versavu rotating case And the iPad is in there quite snug. Scared to remove and risk further damage. I am starting to suspect there is some merit to the idea that the case has caused stress cracks as mentioned in other posts. The screen can't be replaced Apple wants to replace with a refurb. Apple support could not comment when I questioned about the case causing the crack. Trying to get an appointment at the Apple Store so they can evaluate. Not a happy customer. I have had many iPads throughout the years and never had a screen issue.

It is very surprising many users facing same problem in Apple iPad Pro. I do have same problem, screen was broken during traveling whereas never happened with iPad 3, Air and other versions which I have been using frequently since long.

I do agree that iPad Pro have some problem in screen and I think all Apple users are mostly very trusted and using Apple products since long. Apple have very good reputation and trust about their products & services so they should improve the quality of screen glass/LCD and call back all sold iPad Pro's for replacement of screen without any cost and reimburse the cost to the customers who already got repaired their iPad Pro's.

Many? Hardly.

Apple does not read here. Submit your feedback to Apple here:

However, if you think Apple is likely to replace, at no cost, iPad Pros that got broken because people dropped things on them or dropped the device, well, I think you're going to be disappointed.
