iOS 9.2 causing lag in Logitech Create keyboard for iPad Pro

iOS 9.2 has significantly weakened the performance of the Logitech Create keyboard for iPad Pro. It had been instantly responsive--one of the very best features that made the combo feel like a laptop. With 9.2 keys strokes are dropped left and right, and there's a noticeable lag in the key appearing on screen. Very, very frustrating. I saw it referenced in this thread:

Re: iPad Pro smart keyboard shortcuts stop working

And I've seen a mention on Twitter too. What's going on? Has anyone talked with Logitech?

I'm having the same issue. After 9.2 update the Logitech Create keyboard on my iPad Pro is basically unusable because I'm having to go back and fix so many dropped keystrokes, rearranged letters, etc. There is also a noticeable lag from when I type to when the characters appear on screen where before it was instant. Must be something software related because it was right after the 9.2 update that it started happening.

Thank you for this temprary fix!

Effectively changing the hardware keyboard driver on the iPad did indeed make the problem significatly better and makes it clear for all that the problem is not with the keyboard but with the software driver. Hopefully Apple will get on the stick and update iOS 9.2 with a point one revision and reinstate the original driver that was reportedly dropped with the last major update very soon. In the mean time, following the advice to switch the hardware keyboard driver from U.S. to International - PC has made things markedly better though not perfect by any means.

Again, the way to do this is:

SETTINGS > KEYBOARD > HARDWARE KEYBOARD > INTERNATIONAL - PC

Thanks again for this.

Cheers!

I am so thankful to see I'm not the only one in this situation! My first iPad Pro had a flickering screen and I thought that was creating the lagging issue; but after getting a replacement iPad and updating the software, I realized that was NOT the issue!

I hope this problem gets resolved ASAP! Other than this syncing problem, none of the other keyboards that have been made for the Pro appeal to me as much as this one, not even the Smart keyboard. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I've just tried applying the fix you recommended and it's totally worked for me.

Back to typing into this web form's text area input with all the iOS keyboard assistance turned back on and it's only dropped one keystroke so far as I can tell.

+1 for the workaround: Settings > General > Keyboard > Hardware Keyboard > set to U.S. International - PC

Feels like l've got the device I purchased back to 95% 🙂 I'm telling my local Genius Bar about this.

OKAY EVERYBODY I FOUND THE SOLUTION!!! After chatting with apple tech support they helped come up with a two part total solution. First, yes you need to go to settings>keyboard> etc and change to US international, but that didn't help me alone, in fact I couldn't really even see the improvement that you guys talked about, but after that, then they told me to reset network settings and together it brought the performance to 100%. I was about to return mine and was super ****** but I promise that it made mine work 100%, I can type over 100+ words per minute and it kept up with me as fast as I could type for a full paragraph and didn't drop a single letter. I have the apple smart keyboard as well and now I can return it and just use the logitech one (originally bought apple keyboard but liked the backlit keys and extra protection of the Logitech so I bought the Logitech and was gunna return the apple one until i realized the logi wouldn't work so I held onto the apple one but now that I got the logi to work I can return the apple one)! Super happy
