iOS 9.2 iCloud backup still not fixed!!!

So I've been plagued with the Backup could not be completed problem and I've been waiting for Apple to release a fix and I was happy to see this problem mentioned as one of the bugs dealt with in iOS 9.2, BUT it was not actually fixed!

Now my phone is not backed up at all after all Apple geniuses advised that I delete older backups from iCould and try again, my MacBook storage is too small to carry my 128gb iPhone backup and now if my phone dies for some reason all my life is gone with it, well most of it!

Tried backing up my iPhone to external storage but Apple won't let you do that cause we are freaking slaves and not free to do what we want, so now I hope they would finally listen and address this issue that has been mentioned many times before!!!!

I have been going through the exact same thing. Have tried resetting network settings, signing out and back into iCloud, soft reset, changing what is being backed up, and recently before 9.2 deleting the old backup off iCloud. Now I'm in same situation have iPhone 6 Plus 9.2 128 GB with no icloud back up saying could not complete and last backup never! I did manage to get a backup to my iMac but really really don't want to do a factory reset and restore unless I'm for sure it will fix the problem.

Apple please help. You have acknowledged the problem but apparently the attempt to correct it with 9.2 did not work.

I still cannot get iCloud backup to work on iPhone 6 64GB. I have tried today deleting my 0MB backup file in iCloud and hard reset of phone. When I start a backup, it chugs for 20 minutes, gets nearly done on the progress bar, then says "The last backup could not be completed" all over again.

For those that succeded, what are your methods????

IT'S WORKING!!!!

All I did was call Apple about a week and half ago. They talked sent the issue to an Engineer and now it works.

If you are having an issue Call Apple. If you are paying for iCloud they will help.

It;s an issue on the iCloud system that an engineer needs to clear out / completely delete any old backup's..

2 phones were not working and now both are backing up.

One possible thing to note - when turning on backups again, it looks like it turns on backups for *all* apps, which could cause your backup to exceed the available space if you have the default iCloud storage. Try going into the icloud -> storage -> manage storage -> this iphone -> show all apps and turn off any apps that you don't care to backup (for me, photos and messaging apps with lots of photos/videos would consume several GB, and I don't need them backed up from the phone)

Happy to say that iCloud backup is now working on my iPhone 6 Plus and iPad Air, here in Murca. I am a little sorry to see that Apple must have kept their support people in the dark while they fixed this. This may explain why some people were told that it would be fixed by an IOS update today. They were probably led to believe that it would be resolved by today. An IOS update to fix a few problems seemed unlikely since Apple would run the risk of fixing a few by breaking millions with an update.
