I am in the same boat that you are in. I got my computer a couple of weeks ago. I have El Capitan Version 10.11.6. Which is the newest of the new. I have no other updates that I can update. I have downloaded every quicktime player that would be compatible with El Capitan and none of them have the option to record video or audio. The closest thing to recording is broadcasting( one of the ones of that I downloaded), which says error when I try to broadcast. I have an I mac which came with quicktime and I know that quick time comes with every mac. I cant seem to understand why it didn't come with mine. But when I download a video and put it into final cut pro to edit, it has the quick time player sign in the middle of the file. You would think that seeing the quick time player sign, that it would be in your applications or Launch pad. But there nothing. So weird. I have looked every where on the internet to see how I can download it. But there is nothing. Help!! lol
