Similar problem with phone app. I just updated to iOS 9.2.1 on my iPhone 6 Plus (June 2015). When making or receiving a call to or from another iPhone (iPhone 5, pre-9.2.1), I can't hear anything, and the other party cannot hear me either. On two calls to land lines, the other party and I could only hear a few bits of sound here and there. Apple, please fix this now! âš âš âš âš  âš  âš

After I installed the software update to iOS 9.2.1 on my iPhone 5c, my text messages (iMessages) did not alert, and they did not display on my lock screen. An Apple support technician advised me to reset my phone to the factory settings by doing the following: Settings, General, Reset, Reset All Settings. It takes just over a minute to do this, and it solved both of my problems. I didn’t lose any photos, notes, or contacts. I did have to reconnect to my home Wi-Fi as well as reset some other things that I had customized, such as wallpaper and passcode.

I'm having similar problems. Yesterday, 29th Feb 2016, my iPhone decided that iOS 9.2.1 would stop allowing me to make/receive all phone calls properly. (I have an iPhone 4S, 64gb model, with more than 30gb of free space left on it, and I'm on the UK EE network!)

1) If I call someone, I can hear them, but they can't hear me.
2) If someone calls me, I can hear them, but they can't hear me.

iOS 9.2 has been a complete and unmitigated disaster of an update - possibly the worst ever in Apple's history - and that's saying something! Apple seems to be unconcerned that their latest update is bricking people's iPhone's left, right and centre, in hundereds of unique but annoying ways, and all Apple can do is advise users to "Check their volume settings. Make sure microphones aren't blocked. Update your iPhone to the latest version of the iOS"!

Fat lot of good any of that advice does! 😠 😠 😠

I've tried every single possible option or resetting my iPhone, updating it, wiping it and then installing the iOS as a "New iPhone", and restoring it from any one of several backups, but nothing, and I mean NOTHING, works! Another trip, and several hours I will now need to waste, going to an Apple store to get this problem fixed! Apple have really fouled customers over with this update! I swear I've had it with Apple!

Same here. Ever since 9.2.1 went in, my sound works sometimes and other times nothing. I have checked all settings and restarted the phone/pad and it makes no difference. Why hasn't Apple addressed this issue yet?? Serious failure on their part. I see many, many people complaining about it all over the net, and not ONE reply or response from Apple about a possible bug.

Time for a Samsung.

I am having the same problem too, no alerts or notifications, i have missed a lot of phone calls, messages, people trying to call but say it engaged all the time, as if was it barred but it is not, now and then i get no service, i have done a to hard reset, also done a full reset, by reset all setting, this only works for a short period, then the problems comes back again, all this mobile is fit for is the bin, or thrown right throw your windows,
