Is there any way to fix your iPhone 6 after setting the date and time to January 1, 1970?

I saw something on the internet that said your iPhone 6 would do something cool if the date was changed to January 1, 1970. I did this, and my phone will now not turn on and is constantly rebooting. If anyone here can help me, please let me know.

Thanks!

iPhone 6, iOS 9.2.1

Right. I only have that and go to college. So hostile. I tried everything and it didn't work so I went to Apple. Case closed. I believe that everyone should try the stuff from the earlier posts, even though it didn't work for me. However, a quick trip to Apple fixed It. If nothing else works everyone can wait 2 weeks for their phone to completely die

Please point out where someone was hostile with you.

Hi,I did this but managed to fix my phone before it got bricked. You'll need a working internet connection and a Mac with the latest version of iTunes installed.

This is how to fix it:

1. remove the battery and press the power button for 10 to 30 seconds.(you can do it yourself by following DIY guides or visit the apple store)

This resets the system clock.

2. Restore the battery,(The phone will pick date and time settings from the network operator automatically )

3. Start the iPhone and put it into recovery mode(press and hold the home and power button until iTunes detects it).

4. Restore the iPhone firmware and restore your data from previous backups

5. And your iPhone is back.

Ohh it got really hot while stuck at the apple logo so to stop it from melting(I imagined this happening),put the iPhone into recovery mode by pressing the home and power button till it.You can then follow the steps above to fix it.
