For those having problems with the iOS 9.3 update please read...

So many people are having problems with the update to iOS 9.3 and the questions are flooding the iOS support forums now. I am hoping that by consolidating some of the information available, it will help some of you without starting hundreds of new threads all asking about the same things.

Please do not shoot the messenger if you already know all of this. I am just trying to help by providing some information To the community. Theses problems are well known, Apple has acknowledged them and is reportedly working on a fix that should be out soon.

Here are some tech site articles that explain the problems if any of you are interested in reading them. They are in no particular order other than what my most recent Google search turned up for me.

Apple posted these support articles a couple of days ago and they might help some of you as well

If you can't activate your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch after installing iOS 9.3 - Apple Support

If you can’t activate your iPad 2 (GSM model) after you update to iOS 9.3 - Apple Support

If nothing suggested works for you right now, you will just have to be patient (remember that "please don't shoot the messenger" thing from above ) and wait until Apple issues the fixed software update.

That's great that Apple is "working on it", but in the meantime our devices are worthless other than for game. Email links are a VERY big deal for those of us on the road.

That being said, do you know of a way to revert back to the pre 9.0s1 software?

Thanks for taking the time to post those links. It is disappointing that Apple doesn't have these on their website.

Last week, I updated iPad Air and iPhone 6 to 9.3 version 13E233. Worked fine. This morning my iPad Air showed update available for 9.3.

if this had been Microsoft I would have ignored. I clicked to install "assuming" it would see that is was already loaded. Well it loaded version 13E237 and now

MY iPad is hardly working. So this fix is worse! My wifi is extremely slow using safari. I have reset network and it has done nothing. I have turned Java off as someone recommended and it did nothing. Playing videos on craftsy was where I first noticed that downloads were slow and videos are fuzzy/blurry not good quality. You tube takes forever to download and constantly buffers.

Unfortunately I am on the road away for next 8 weeks from my home computer but now I see previous version not available.....I hate to say this, but Microsoft does allow easier way to revert. I just bout a Mac too.

THought someone needs to know that the iPad fix broke my iPad!

I Don't know if I should feel guilty about this but I feel the need to let everyone know that I successfully updated my iPhone 5s to the new build od 13E237 iOS 9.3. I was very hesitant to install this new build because I was not having any problems with the old build of iOS 9.3 that I installed last week, Another experienced iPhone user convinced me to update (in a roundabout way) somindonwloaded it and installed it in less than 15 minutes.

I hope that Apple releases a build that fixes the links issues in Safari and that everybody can get back to using their devices the way that they want to use them. I just wanted to share my experience and let people know that there just might be a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel.

WendyinSonoma,

Totally off topic. My sister-in-law complained of various problems on her iPad back when she upgraded from iOS 8 to iOS 9 so she purchased a Surface Pro 4. It has a fully functioning iTunes loaded on it so this past weekend, I helped her transfer her music from her old PC onto It. It has a USB port so all her Apple devices synced without any issues. Compared to the iPad Pro 12+", I thought the screen size was just right and very responsive. Hardware wise it was very impressive. I became familiar with Windows 10 fairly quickly too.

Back to the topic, hopefully your issues with 9.3 have resolved or will resolve soon. I just updated my child's iPod Touch and iPad Mini to the newly released 9.3 (ver 237). Everything is working fine. Good luck.

II've noticed most people have this problem mainly with 9.3 version and not the 9.2.1 version which I do have the same problem. My question is do I do the upgrade or dont I? Will it resolve my problems or make them worse?

this is what I have done so far with all the advice on here and still to no avail the problem remains.

removed booking.com

removed website history, turned JavaScript off, restarted....can click links within Google but when I get to websites like eBay and gumtree...need JavaScript or can not click links within the site Or links within emails, as hangs.

contacted apple support and the reply was:-

They are aware of the problem and advise me to keep upto date with new software....what do I do....update or not update to 9.3?

Mar 30, 2016 5:46 AM in response to Jaspben

I Have not had any problems with the upgrade on either of my devices. I updated my phone again last with the new build that appeared in the settings yesterday morning. The 1.4GB file downloaded and installed in minutes. Everything went very smoothly and I have seen no issues so far this morning.

I can not tell you if the update is going to fix your problems, because I have no way of knowing that for sure. If I did, I would gladly share the knowledge with everyone here. I would shout it from a mountain top if I could.

This "fix" for the booking.com/freezing links issue was posted just above yours. You might want to try this first if you feel uncomfortable upgrading.

I always backup and I feel comfortable restoring my devices if it comes to that. It was with some sense of trepidation that I ventured into the update last night, but I figured the worst that would happen is that I would restore with iTunes or wait until the next "most stable" update was released. At some point, one has to make the decision to give it a try and since I started this whole discussion, I figured it was my turn to give it a go.

Just saw this article. It provides various details and describes a fix which seems iffy to me (same as the redmondpie fix). I would only try it if it was essentiaI. I would backup to iTunes first. I don't have the issue and in my case it is easier to wait. I realize that there are many who are heavily impacted, particularly if they rely on their devices for work or essential communications.

This Guardian article is so well written that I think I now have a grasp on why your link's workaround works

Some folks use their iDevices all day every day as part of their Business Process - these folks may do a risk/reward analysis and conclude that "who cares if it is *still* busted?!?"

* If I am reading right, this debacle was enabled by a vulnerability in Apple's submissions process - the UL data files are usually in KBs not MBs that are submitted in App builds TO Apple for review (an App doesn't get 'approved' once at first submit and then green light from then on, does it?) - a "perfect storm" ? timing ? = we will never know, but some intrepid reporter might dig it up!
