So many people are having problems with the update to iOS 9.3 and the questions are flooding the iOS support forums now. I am hoping that by consolidating some of the information available, it will help some of you without starting hundreds of new threads all asking about the same things.

Please do not shoot the messenger if you already know all of this. I am just trying to help by providing some information To the community. Theses problems are well known, Apple has acknowledged them and is reportedly working on a fix that should be out soon.

Here are some tech site articles that explain the problems if any of you are interested in reading them. They are in no particular order other than what my most recent Google search turned up for me.

Apple posted these support articles a couple of days ago and they might help some of you as well

If you can't activate your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch after installing iOS 9.3 - Apple Support

If you can’t activate your iPad 2 (GSM model) after you update to iOS 9.3 - Apple Support

If nothing suggested works for you right now, you will just have to be patient (remember that "please don't shoot the messenger" thing from above ) and wait until Apple issues the fixed software update.

That's great that Apple is "working on it", but in the meantime our devices are worthless other than for game. Email links are a VERY big deal for those of us on the road.

That being said, do you know of a way to revert back to the pre 9.0s1 software?

Thanks for taking the time to post those links. It is disappointing that Apple doesn't have these on their website.

I just spent 2 hours on the phone with AppleCare. They tried to have me restore it, but the result is that is didn't work, and not is completely frozen in restore mode. The tech said if it doesn't respond in 15 minutes it may be a "hardware" problem, and I will have to take it into the apple store.

I guess Tim Cook is into sales, not quality assurance for his programmers. Very disappointing.

Thank you for posting this information.

What I don't understand is why wasn't this fiasco revealed during public beta testing? More to the point, why didn't the Apple engineers discover this problem? Don't they test by going through the same procedures the rest of us would use? iTunes? WiFi? As someone suggested, people have been fired for much less.

Apple trusts it's iOS users to immediately download & install the "latest & greatest"...in fact, they actually push it (meaning the auto-push of the download to your device when connected to Wi-Fi under an external power source). That trust then goes to the end-user who many times blindly install these "trusted" updates.

I wonder now what has happened to that trust. 😐
