For those having problems with the iOS 9.3 update please read...

So many people are having problems with the update to iOS 9.3 and the questions are flooding the iOS support forums now. I am hoping that by consolidating some of the information available, it will help some of you without starting hundreds of new threads all asking about the same things.

Please do not shoot the messenger if you already know all of this. I am just trying to help by providing some information To the community. Theses problems are well known, Apple has acknowledged them and is reportedly working on a fix that should be out soon.

If you can't activate your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch after installing iOS 9.3 - Apple Support

If you can’t activate your iPad 2 (GSM model) after you update to iOS 9.3 - Apple Support

If nothing suggested works for you right now, you will just have to be patient (remember that "please don't shoot the messenger" thing from above ) and wait until Apple issues the fixed software update.

That's great that Apple is "working on it", but in the meantime our devices are worthless other than for game. Email links are a VERY big deal for those of us on the road.

That being said, do you know of a way to revert back to the pre 9.0s1 software?

Thanks for taking the time to post those links. It is disappointing that Apple doesn't have these on their website.

Demo has given us a great service, his OP has all the current threads to these issues. If you go to the first post in this thread, you will have links to all the key threads.

IMV, there are two problems: 1) Update to 9.3 (may) require an old username/password and 2) Update to 9.3 may disconnect links in Safari. The problem 2) is far more severe.

i do concur this #ios9.3killedsafari renders us rethought whether to update to the latest iOS before someone tries it for a week or so. it's an issue with confidence with what Apple makes should be great and with stability. Apparently Apple failed this time!

luckily, my iPhone 6+ is still fine but not my iPad.

IF YOU USE GMAIL HERE IS A FIX:

DOwnload the Gmail app.

ACcess mail through Gmail. Links work, but it is somewhat slow.

if your mail is through another account maybe there is a way to forward it to a Gmail account?

Thank you for the update, but you do not have to shout at me. I didn't write the information, I only posted links to external sites that talked about the various problem with the update and offered suggestions that might help until the update is fixed.

Hi Demo,

You have been very helpful. Bottom line, after two hours on the line with a Senior AppleCare person, who tried to restore from itunes, which froze everything, I ended up taking my thoroughly frozen ipad to the Apple Store at 10am this morning when the opened. I was not alone. In 30 minutes they it up and running.

Hi guys, this isn't a fix just a note,Not sure if it's worth passing on but I've found if i change the search engine to Bing in saffari settings i'm able to open links that a can't with any of the others. On all the others my iphone 6plus just freezes. Still unable to open links in my emails though, having said that messages also go to my ipad mini4 and i can open them there no problem even though they've had the same update.

That is part of the problem with the update. You have to wait until Apple fixes this. Apple pulled the updat for now. You will not be able to install the update until they release the fixed version.
