For those having problems with the iOS 9.3 update please read...

So many people are having problems with the update to iOS 9.3 and the questions are flooding the iOS support forums now. I am hoping that by consolidating some of the information available, it will help some of you without starting hundreds of new threads all asking about the same things.

Please do not shoot the messenger if you already know all of this. I am just trying to help by providing some information To the community. Theses problems are well known, Apple has acknowledged them and is reportedly working on a fix that should be out soon.

Here are some tech site articles that explain the problems if any of you are interested in reading them. They are in no particular order other than what my most recent Google search turned up for me.

Apple posted these support articles a couple of days ago and they might help some of you as well

If you can't activate your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch after installing iOS 9.3 - Apple Support

If you can’t activate your iPad 2 (GSM model) after you update to iOS 9.3 - Apple Support

If nothing suggested works for you right now, you will just have to be patient (remember that "please don't shoot the messenger" thing from above ) and wait until Apple issues the fixed software update.

That's great that Apple is "working on it", but in the meantime our devices are worthless other than for game. Email links are a VERY big deal for those of us on the road.

That being said, do you know of a way to revert back to the pre 9.0s1 software?

Thanks for taking the time to post those links. It is disappointing that Apple doesn't have these on their website.

For those interested, the OSXDaily article that Demo, myself, and others have posted offers, as one option, to downgrade to 9.2.1 and gives specific instructions. However, some users who attempted this today have posted that Apple has quit signing that version so a downgrade is no longer possible. It is standard procedure for Apple to stop signing previous versions after a few days with a new update. I was hoping that in this instance they would wait longer due the issues reported here. So my recommendation to those considering this is to not try it.

I Have same problem Scootbot. Just out of the blue yesterday, links in safari didn't load. I did not update and have been using version 9.2.1 since the release without having this problem. So it's not the update that caused this issue with Safari. Can't update anyway, as I tried this morning, thinking it might resolve the safari issue but it just says I have no internet connection even though I do.

i Have booking.com on my iPad 4, but have not updated it recently. The problem occurred completely out of the blue not following a booking.com download or update. Have not made any changes on my iPad before this problem arose.

Hi Demo,

You have been very helpful. Bottom line, after two hours on the line with a Senior AppleCare person, who tried to restore from itunes, which froze everything, I ended up taking my thoroughly frozen ipad to the Apple Store at 10am this morning when the opened. I was not alone. In 30 minutes they it up and running.

I/we would be curious to know exactly what they did, if you don't mind sharing.

I, like Demo, am curious as well.

My guess is that they have the NEW update available to THEM - thus testing "in the wild" before release "World-WILD"

As I mentioned on the first page of this thread (4th post), I emailed the hosts suggesting that an announcement (or a "sticky") be placed at the top of the iPad and iPhone forums due to the issues being reported here. I received a reply today - the contents are not too surprising!!! 😝

I hope Bob has better luck with his.

The Genius Bar tech reset the ipad. Instead of restoring the backup from the cloud or iTunes Once the ipad was restarted he added ALL the data back manually. It took some time but works. Once I redo my personal settings I will make a new back up. I hope this makes sense.

HE said using an old backup just put the glitch back on the device.
