ipad pro 9.7 update 9.3.2 issue

Today when I tried to update my IPad with the 9.3.2 update over wifi, after downloading the update and the install started like usual. Upon rebooting, I get the Connect to iTunes screen. I connect my iPad to iTunes and try to update it, says update failed and that I need to do a restore. The restore fails (error code 56). I tried all of the fixes from the help page with no luck. Any suggestions or do I need to send off my iPad for repair?

Thanks

iPad Pro, iOS 9.3.2

There are many reports of this happening on the internet. I called Apple this morning to get an opinion, and the person I talked to said they had never heard there was a problem. Apple very slow to respond. I have decided not to update.

If I worked for Apple and I'd like to keep my job, I'd say the same thing too. They'll probably show me the door and my last paycheck if I admit to have heard of problems.

Mine initially went to recovery during OTA update. When plugged in to recover and update it progresses 75% and then kicks the Error 56.

Personally, I would not do the update (whether OTA or wired) if I were a user with a properly functioning 9.3.1 iPad Pro 9.7, until there is some solution or correction in place. Especially given that the replacement iPads (at least in my case) are TBD for availability.

i was finally able to restore my iPad 3 from the last backup. i did the backup immediately before downloading the update as i usually do. it took one 4 hours because it 1st turned it into a brand new iPad and then synced downloading every single app, song, album, etc one at a time.

strangely when i checked the version on the iPad afterward it was 9.3.2 !!!! figure that one out......

Supposedly an iOS update will be coming out at the Worldwide Developer's Conference in June. No news un a software fix as of yet. When my iPad crashed and error 56 I took it to the Apple store and they told me sorry hardware issue, we'll have to order a replacement. No compensation for my down time to lost files, as a matter of fact they have your sign a waiver of liability for any files on your crashed iPad. We are in the dark as is Apple employees, good luck.

As mentioned in my post yesterday, my iPad Pro 9.7 WiFi 128GB was also bricked during update. I took the iPad to the Apple Store yesterday and after replicating the failure on their in-store machine, they ordered me a warranty replacement. It arrived today and I picked it up a couple hours ago. I am in the process of restoring my backup now.

I recommend others who are having this issue also take their iPad Pro 9.7's in for replacement. I'm sure that a string of these hardware replace will garner someone's attention and may help spur along a correction for those out there who have not yet taken the update.

Call Apple Support back and don't take "no" for an answer. The problem is either their faulty software or a manufacturing defect with the 9.7 iPad Pro. I had to keep pushing to get them to do something, but I'm losing productivity, time, money, etc. and it's an Apple problem, not mine. Their iOS update did this. Tell them you need a solution; keep asking for someone with more decision-making authority until you get someone who can help.

I had the same "Error 56" problem updating to 9.3.2 on my iPad Pro 9.7 (128Gb with LTE). I tried the process of restoring on iTunes multiples but to no avail.

My iPhone and big iPad Pro updated no problem.

I made a Genius Bar appointment and they couldn't figure it out either so they ordered me a warranty replacement. Should arrive in 3 - 5 business days I am told.
