ipad pro 9.7 update 9.3.2 issue

Today when I tried to update my IPad with the 9.3.2 update over wifi, after downloading the update and the install started like usual. Upon rebooting, I get the Connect to iTunes screen. I connect my iPad to iTunes and try to update it, says update failed and that I need to do a restore. The restore fails (error code 56). I tried all of the fixes from the help page with no luck. Any suggestions or do I need to send off my iPad for repair?

Thanks

iPad Pro, iOS 9.3.2

It is not for other users to determine what someone can or can't say.

I simply referred you to the ToU - did you read them? If you haven't, please do, in particular Section 2.1 - 2.3.

Actually Apple does look at these forums, they usually (but not always) decline to comment

You're entitled to your opinion. I'm sure you think you know best. I'd be interested in a couple of links where Apple has responded to a technical question.

I am done here.

We are not the ones breaking the ToS. Why should we avoid the forum because you are in the wrong. Also, I have been told many times from Apple Support that they do not read these community forums. I am not sure if you are just making that up or are misinformed. If you wish to give support in the form of letting people know that you tried something and it failed than that is perfectly fine and within the ToS. But, there is no need for the extra speculation and anger to go with it. You have no idea what Apple has, is, or will be trying to do to solve the problem. So giving angry misinformation leads people to the wrong conclusion. They are working on a fix and that is the last thing I have heard about it. I will post another update once the fix is out and I try it.

I had same problem. Unfortunately, your going to have to get a new one from Apple Store. I bought mine from Verizon Wireless and it was less than 20 days old, so I brought mine there. no Apple Store near me and have a business acct there. they replaced with new one which I will not update until I hear the announcement that it is fixed. I'm on my Air 2 now. Fortunately, didn't do a trade I.

I think we need to start a group therapy discussion for some of you. There is no reason to keep the thread "alive. " 😝

If your iPad is dead Apple WILL replace it so stop waiting and get the @#$@#$@# thing replaced or stop whining about it. ⚠

Apple will release the fix when it is ready. The person from Corp. Customer Relations at Apple I've been talking to tells me the next time I see the update post 9.3.2 or higher that it will be safe to install.

Apple already replaced my ipad and it's associated Applecare via a refund and re-purchase - so my warranty clock restarted. I'm happy and plugging along on 9.3.1. It just works. 😉

dwmreg64,

I have an iPad pro 9.7. I did not update once the reports were out regarding problems with the updates. However, I still get daily messages to update to 9.3.2. Since you have spoken to customer relations at Apple, how will I know when 9.3.2 is the new version? When I call Applecare, I am told that they know nothing about any problem and I have not found anything official on Apples website.

Your ipad probably downloaded and cached the upgrade into it's own memory. You need to go to Settings > General > Storage & iCloud usage. Look under "Storage" select Manage Storage then locate the 9.3.2 upgrade and swipe to delete it. You will keep getting prompts like you describe if this is the case until you delete it.

Right now my iPhone is showing the iOS 9.3.3 Public Beta 1 at 1.8GB. There are no available updates as of now for my iPad Pro. Apple didn't release 9.3.3 for it since it probably suffers the same problem as 9.3.2. My replacement iPad from the local Apple store shipped with 9.3 and updated to 9.3.1 fine.
