Smart keyboard ipad pro lost connection

Having the same problem. (IOS 10.0.1, 13" iPad) one battery drops below ~85% it tells me: "unsupported accessory" and displays the normal keyboard.

Same Problem with 9,7. Apple Support has no answer.

I Have the same problem. I usually don't have to reboot to solve..... I just jiggle the keyboard connection to the iPad and after some frustrated swearing it sometimes comes back. Otherwise I end up using the screen keyboard. A hugely frustrating experience. I was going to take it back to the Apple Store, but now after reading all of these posts I am worried that the issue may be more systemic. I do hope Apple recommend a solution soon, because it is immensly frustrating!!

Otherwise I love my iPad I cannot understand how I ever survived without it. I have gone entirely paperless for work... And I used to be a paper fiend!!!

December 2016. The problem is still there. Ios 10.1.1. Apple ignores the problem. Solution only switches to another keyboard. Hopefully, Apple will take back the keyboard.

This seems to have worked for me, and makes sense as my smart keyboard worked perfectly and then when I updated the software (with the most recent available), the keyboard stopped working reliably.

An update: initially switching off the Touch ID seemed to work but the keyboard is still not reliable.

Just replace the ipad. I returned mine and they replaced it with a brand new one.

Make an appointment at Apple store For checking.

If Apple is serious about the iPad Pro the Smart Keyboard should work always in Type position ALWAYS, without a reboot.
