I removed the keyboard and noticed that the connecting edge was not straight, and the portion with the pins was slightly lower than the lower than the rest of the edge. Just flexed it a smidge to raise the pins and problem is solved!

VERY frustrating and as others pointed out, heavy price tag for an accessory that works every once and a while. My issue is absolutely a software issue. When attaching my keyboard I get the message that the “Accessory not Supported: This accessory is not supported by this device” . It is not a physical connection issue and requires a reboot over and over until it suddenly does work. This morning it took 11 times to reboot before it was recognizes. I dont dare take it off now until I am prepared for this reboot process again. I have no answers, I only have a complaint for now.

Hi,

Was wondering if there is a permanent solution for this. It makes no sense for us to spend so much money to invest in Apple products only to find that we have to manually reboot every now and then just to get the keyboard to work.

Will you be able to advise what is the main cause for this glitch? Software or hardware issue?

FYI I have to reboot my IPad Pro for the 3rd time just to get the keyboard to work.

None of this garbage works anymore and these people aren’t going to be able to figure it out.....Android and google phone, I’m getting darn excited to meet you! Apple community, the great many of you who have helped me find the solutions that our product manufacturer never stomached the courage to even acknowledge, I will miss you dearly....until I find you on the other side!😉

happy new year!

I got a new keyboard from Apple in the store. It works occasionally, beeps at me when closed even. So, still not fixed, and typing this on the screen keyboard.

Apple you suck, refuse to acknowledge this problem and correct. I hope someone with better contacts then myself can get them to pay attention. I have been posting about this for 4 months. Your would think after over 350,000 posts about this across the globe someone would look into....guess not.

good luck to you all, i’m Out of Apple, nothin but worms in there

I‘m typing this on the touch screen with my index fingers so pardon me if you have too read this as slow as I am typing very slowly.

I‘m considering a conspiracy theory right now. Could it be possible that Apple wants us to get use to using the iPad without the attacher keyboard? After all, that has been their modus operandi... for example...

  • The end of life of Final Cut 7.
  • The lack of optical drives.
  • No headphone out of iPhone... to name a few.

I think this is their way of telling us that we need to use the iPad as a tablet and get use to the idea that is is not a laptop.

Could this be a harbenger of things to come?

WHY HAS THERE BEEN NO OFFICAL ATTEMPT TO CORRECT THIS ANNOYING PROBLEM?

I WILL NOT PURCHASE ANOTHER IPad Pro UNLESS THIS PROBLEM IS FIXED ASAP.

I was considering ordering an iPad lab pac of 32 stations for my media classes, but that idea is on hold.

Windows and Android are looking better every day!

After Apple released an iPad Pro ad where the kid goes all around his town using the iPad Pro with attached Smart Keyboard as if it were a laptop, your theory is completely wrong and your post useless beyond recognition.

if you were being sarcastic, instead, your post is just useless beyond recognition. Thanks for participating, but no thanks.

I agree the yelling usually comes first.

The real frustration is Apple’s slow or no response. Considering support is their biggest selling point.

When they could not diagnose the problem and only offered a small discount off a replacement (mine was two months out of warranty) I said I might as well go to a third party. He did replace it under the premise of product development. It would seem they could improve the connection to remmendy the problem
