Here is a workaround until Apple restores the Select All - Delete functionality in iOS 10:
1. Open the inbox you wish to delete all
2. Tap edit (top right corner)
3. Tap to select any email (this will enable the move functionality)
4. Tap & Hold "Move" (bottom center)
5. While holding "Move", tap to de-select the email from step 3 (you are doing this so all emails, not just the selected email get moved)
6. Release "Move" (this will bring up a list of destinations to move your mail
7. Tap "Trash" or "Archive" to move all messages to the respective destination
It's convoluted, but a workaround nonetheless.
Thanks
HI I found a much easier way. hit edit on email page click first email hold move button while unclicking first email. It will take you to the page that shows all of you files. Look at top it will show first email plus the number that will go into trash. Hit trash file. Done. This sounds complicated while explaining it, but it is really quite fast and easy.
Yes, it works and also wise to immediately "delete all" in your "trash" mail box. Otherwise it seems like they've ended up back in my inbox, not sure why or how?? Also my Mail icon now says I have 4,350 emails but none appear, I'm just ignoring it. Very puzzling why a perfectly functional "delete all" option for the "inbox" was eliminated.
It would make no difference if you selected 'Delete All' in your inbox by accident as all emails go to your trash folder first - if you delete them from there then yes they are gone for good.

Steve, you are absolutely correct. I had been waiting and writing Apple about this feature for YEARS, and finally in iOS 9 there it was! Oh, joy!
Then, gone in iOS 10! Noooooooo! But, not totally gone. I found "Delete All" in my Trash folder, not that it does a lot of good there. I suspect there was a mixup in the final build and slipped by QC. That's worrying, slipping by QC. Not a good sign for Apple. Deja vu Mobile Me.
HI Bill,
It is an odd choice if Apple have definitely got rid of it. I would strongly advise that anyone who wants this feature back uses the Feedback form here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html and selects the 'Enhancement Request' in the drop-down box.
If enough people do this I'm sure Apple will add this back in, if only one or two request it then it's likely it won't be added in again.
Steve
Steve,
I'm going to go with "screw up" rather than a de-featuring since "Delete All" is not totally gone, just missing where it would be the most useful. Either "Delete All" caused a problem in the iOS 10 Mail build, or someone got the modules mixed up, but taking it out makes no sense.

they had this in junk folder and used it everyday ... 10 is a disappointment... it's messy
iOS 10.0.2 did NOT fix it.
For those folks still using ios 9, you won't see the trash all command if you are in the "all inboxes" inbox (I have three mail accounts.) You must go to each account. I found the trash/delete all command recently.
Sorry you are wrong. You definitely could Trash all email and then go to the Trash box and choose to delete all. I do not understand why Apple took this feature away because a dumb user would still have to go to their trash box and choose to delete all. If by then the user was surprised that all his email was gone he doesn't deserve an iPhone !
Thank you. If you bothered to read the posts in this now nearly 3 month old thread, you'd see I was corrected and acknowledged my mistake. Not sure why you felt the need to open an old thread to point out my mistake, but so glad you took the time to do so........
Because incorrect posts should not be here at all?
