iPhone 7 gps and cell dropping

So, had my new phone for about 4 hours now and have had both GPS and cell service drop at the same time at least 8 times- typically only for about 2 minutes but as I was traveling and using navigation it was very difficult. Anyone else had this problem?

I think the answer you're looking for is, "no." You can back up and restore your iPhone content wheather on the beta or public release. You can install the beta w/o affecting the data on your phone, although you'll have a lot of iCloud/Apple ID sign-ins, as I recall.

To exit the Public Beta, you dis-enroll your device at the website.

I hope that helps!

I fixed the GPS dropped coverage issue on my iPhone 7 with Verizon

I needed to just reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

Be careful NOT to "Erase All Content and Settings"

The "Reset All Settings" keeps all your apps, chat history etc. It erases all your phone settings

I drove over 200 miles over last three days without any dropped coverage. GPS works great

I have voice & data for LTE, no problem. iPhone 7 with Verizon with iOS 10.0.2. Hallelujah - what a pain till now

For what it's worth, I spent bunch of time with Apple tech support earlier this week. They said there's no GPS dropped coverage issue with the iPhone 7, but many users have dropped coverage because of legacy settings. It's an issue for users that restore from backup when setting up new phone

It's great that you've been able to solve your problem, but the GPS issue is not due solely to legacy settings. Many of us, including me, have reset the phone to factory settings and the GPS signal still dropped. In other words, no settings were carried over from the previous phone. I have been working with a Level Two AppleCare rep and there is no official knowledge that Apple is sharing regarding this bug. He has no internal information about this and there has not been internal discussion (at least at his level). That's really unfortunate.

Some say the 10.1 beta has resolved the issue for them. Hopefully if it's really only software related, the problem will be solved as soon as they release the update.

Glad that worked for you but as said above ^^^ it's not the solution for everyone. I wish it were that simple. This is the first thing I tried and one of the first things Apple will tell you to do when this sort of thing is happening.

Funny how they told you something different than others are being told based on the posts here.

I Really don't think there is a solution until A software update comes. But when you call it seemed they have no information on this and they all surprised that it's happening so if they don't acknowledge it how can they fix it in a software update? This is not my only problem either me and my wife's phone are both freezing when opening the native camera app and also iMessage keeps freezing or crashing . This is awful

This is my second day running beta 3 on my iPhone 7. I have had no drop of LTE service. I would get on average one drop per half hour especially while driving. None of the other fixes ever worked for me, including a new phone. At this point, I would say that this software update has fixed the issue. Has anyone NOT had success fixing the issue by using beta 3?

On Vodafone U.K. and can't get 3G or 4G in places where I previously could on my 6 and se. Tried ALL the usual recommended fixes, none work. Just off the phone with AppleCare and they said it's a known issue that engineers are working on, but there's no fix yet. Mine is a rose gold 128gb 7 plus running the latest beta 3 with Vodafone 26.0 carrier settings.

Well , exactly the same issue here on 3 UK network. Went to Apple Store Brent Cross and ppl though I am crazy, no one ever heard of this before. I decided to return my phone and now waiting for the official iOS 10.1 update to fix the issue so I can buy another 7. Some users report that after iOS 10.1 beta installed have no more problems so hopefully next update will sort the things out.
