iPhone 7 gps and cell dropping

"My steps to perform the "fix"

1. on the phone, turn off LTE voice. leave it as data only
2. turn off wifi calling under the phone settings menu (probably doesn't matter but did it anyways)
3. log into your My Verizon account and turn off the HD Voice add on. (Manage products and apps > Manage your products) > click remove from account
4. wait the specified 15-30 mins
5. reset network settings on the phone
6. once its time, go back into the account and add HD Voice back onto the account.
7. turn on LTE Voice/Data again in the phone settings menu

Ok folks, it seemed to work for me tonight. Lets pray this is it!!!!"

I tried the fix from the macrumors forum and it seemed to work on my drive to work earlier. I did not lose service the entire trip or at any point since.

Same Problem Apple Iphone 7 Verizon, On Long Island while using waze I keep losing all

service where I never ever lost it before. Going to try turning the LTE on Data only tommorow.

Now i'm sorry I upgraded from my Iphone 5 😟.

I Followed the above steps and still have the issue. No GPS problems noted, but LTE will drop to 3G and sometimes no service for about 2 min at a time, before spontaneously popping back to LTE

Overall performance seems to have improved following the proposed fix but my phone dropped to No Service on my commute this morning.

I have had the same exact issue since I've gotten the phone. I have the iPhone 7, 256GB, black with Verizon. I've used GPS for 3 trips and every time I get no service and obviously the GPS app states no GPS available. Happens with both Google Maps and Waze. I need to reboot the phone in order to get service again.

That does not really fix the issue. Still occurring for almost everyone. Hoping Apple and Verizon fix this soon. Thinking of returning my iPhone 7.

Yes, the Verizon HD add/remove fix seemed to improve things for a little while, but the problem has returned.

I am having the same issue losing GPS with AT&T on my iPhone 7 plus so it's not just Verizon. My iPhone model number is A1784 which is the AT&T model.

Same issue here. iPhone 7 128Gb Black Verizon in NYC. Noticed dropped connection on both network and GPS while driving several times. Called support, reset network settings, problem persisted. Called support, restore factory settings, problem persisted. Will be taking it in to the store tomorrow to see what they say.

On a Verizon Business account through employer, so can't access the Voice HD feature through Verizon to test MacRumors fix. 😟

Had the same issue iPhone 7 plus Sprint. The Genius at apple said it sounded like an antenna issue and gave me a new one. Works perfect now. GPS either lagged way behind or completely got lost. Would have to reboot my phone but that only helped for a little while. Hope this helps.

I would return it. I had the same issue with my iPhone 7 plus. Tech said it was an antenna problem. Got a new one with no issues. Hope this helps good luck.

did apple determine by your serial number that your antenna was bad or something? I'm just wondering if I get a new one will just happen again or does apple know which serial numbers were affected? Thanks mamamonkey

I am having this issue as well. It's gotten worse. First noticed the GPS dropping out every 5 minutes using Apple maps on my regular commute where my iphone 6 had no issue. Then noticed I would always be in 3G or 1x or no service in areas I've never had issues before. Standing in the same spot, turning airplane mode on, then off put me back at LTE (full reception..full bars).

I agree with all that there is no way this phone is functional with this issue. It happens too often (multiple times a day) and thus makes the device completely unreliable.
