Cannot disable 'Home Control' in locked screen

Steps:

1 Settings -> Passcode

2 Find switches under 'Allow Access When Locked'

3 Try to disable 'Home Control' (Slide it to left to make the switch white)

4 It pops back and remains green(enabled)

5 Other switches function as intended.

Version:

10.0.1 14A403

iPhone 5c A1526

Home.app is not set up because it requires iCloud Keychain which is disabled.

iPhone 5c, iOS 10

I have to go to I cloud turn setting on then to Touch ID setting turn it off and back to iCloud to turn off and it will stay off for a couple days or until unit gets turned off and powered back up, at which point even with home app deleted it still turns itself on when powered back up, and randomly at times, after a couple of days if I leave it powered up, really don't feel safe leaving it on all the time I was just seeing if the new update fixed the problem and it has not so far

Ahah! I had same problem. But I just got the slider to work and turn off.

By sliding the button and deliberately holding my finger there just off to the left, the button then 'caught up' and stayed off.

This was straight after doing registering my fingerprint on that same screen.

Looked all good until, lo and behold, I went back in to that Fingerprint and ID screen .... and the button was turned back on, green.

No help, but this is definitely broken.

I'm on SE running 10.2

Exact same Problem here. This is actually the only entry I have found via Google concerning this bug. I have seen the issue on 2 iPhones which have been updated from iOS9 to 10. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s.

I also have removed the Home-App and do not have Keychain enabled.

Strangely I have also seen this option being disabled without a problem on another iPhone 6.

Anybody know a solution? Besides having to restore the entire phone I mean...

Sorry for the delayed reply. I did not have iCloud Keychain on when I had my issues...

To get the Home Control switch to work right, I just had to open the Home app and enable "iCloud for Home", then the Home Control entry under the 'Allow Access When Locked' section of TouchID & Passcode settings will actually work correctly (setting the switch off is no longer wonky, and it stays the way it's been set).

Odd UI behavior, for sure. Seems to me the 'Home Control' switch there should have been either not shown or greyed-out until Home app/HomeKit was enabled, or it should have defaulted to Off not On...

Just wanted to add to my above response. I discovered that you don't need to do that. It is inaccessible when you swipe to the left UNLESS you use one of the fingerprints registered with Touch ID to unlock your phone. If you use any unregistered finger (sounds a bit funny here), you wouldn't be able to access by swiping left. Just try it. If that's the case, no one else would be able to see your calendar or other widgets when swiping left as well.
