iPhone 7 - Keeps Freezing!!!

I have just taken on the iPhone 7. I have noticed a couple of issues:

1) Freezing: When I open, contacts or whats app... it just stays on that screen. The lock button, or home button does not work. This will last for about 1.5 minutes!!!! Then the phone will be ok, but may take a few pictures ... this is maybe me pressing the lock and home button together

2) Camera - a lot of the times when I open the camera, I get just a black screen where the camera is, then after a couple of seconds my camera comes on....

Has any one else had these issues, and any help with it? I presume its an ios issue rather than a phone issue?

Continue to hold the Power button and press and hold the Volume down button located on the left side of your iPhone. Hold both buttons as the iPhone powers off and back on; release both buttons when the Apple logo appears on the screen.

I've had the same problem when clicking into contacts. Everything would've frozen and I can't click on anything. Eventually I would close the program and then reopen.

After having the iPhone 7 plus for 5 weeks, it completely froze on me and I had to restore the phone for it only to happen again 3 days later. I went to the Genius Bar and the could see that the phone crashed unexpectedly at least 16 times. I questioned about the phone freezing when I click on contacts and was told it could be that I have a lot of photos on my phone (which I did).

Anyway my iPhone 7 plus was replaced, I restored from back up and now have 0 photos on my phone and my contacts still freeze. It doesn't happen all the time but it happens often enough to know that it's an issue and something is not right.

Hopefully Apple fix this issue!

Got new iPhone 7 about 2 weeks ago, freezing keyboard consistently in text messaging, but also in email and a couple of times it locked up on the password screen. Only way to recover is hard reset. My provider put the phone through a diagnostic test and said it was fine so I typed a text for them - after 5 words it locked up.

So, I just returned from my provider with #2 - within an hour it froze in mid-text. It has gotten to the point where I can make it happen just by randomly typing in text messages - seems to happen most when I do multiple backspaces.

I have the latest update with IOS 10.1.1, I have followed some other discussion instructions to disable predictive typing and spellchecking - although disabling functionality to make this thing work seems a bit ridiculous....

I'm assuming based on the number of similar posts that Apple support is monitoring this and working on a solution but I do not see any feedback from Apple on here.

Is there any solution on the horizon???

Everyone having this issue needs to be reporting it to Apple directly - not just to the Genius bar. After multiple trips to the Genius bar and multiple phone replacements, the one Genius Bar technician suggested I escalate mine to a Senior Apple Advisor. I now have discussions multiple times a week with a senior apple advisor, who is also in contact with the engineers at Apple. They're all stumped right now. I'm still in the process of restoring my apps a few at a time in an effort to isolate the problem.

i7 number 7.....i'll keep going to Apple and Verizon every week until this is resolved.

This is definitely an IOS issue! We've restored from iCloud (no change). We've restored from iTunes (no change). We've set up as a new iPhone (no change).

I gave up - and asked for a divorce. Google was my new bride for a day. While a lustful vixen - her attributes were horrific. You cannot delete (only archive) email/texts; cannot comport most Apple things (contacts, music, etc). It was a helluva day without the iPhone and her idiosyncrasies of freezing screens.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE APPLE, Find a Solution! 30,000 posts on this same issue cannot be a coincidence!

Happy Thanksgiving to the team of engineers who, in their haste to push out a product, pushed out a lousy i7 phone!

Although I still lack a solution to this problem, I wanted to report that my iPhone 7 is freezing less often than it did. I am unable to explain this but I wonder if as apps the updating of apps is causing the freezing to lessen.

I am convinced that after typing this my iPhone will start freezing again often 🙂 but I hope not.

This really has made me think less of Apple. I realize this is not a universal problem but the level of posting here ought to be enough for a customer focused company to say something to its unhappy customers.

My iphone 7 does the same. Power/home button unresponsive for around 1 min, after it stop freezing, then randomly locking/unlocking the phone or screen shot. Has happened to me 3 or 4 times. And the most irratating is phone app hanging, as it happened frequently. I have to close the app and reopen again in order to let it work properly. My 6s never has any problem. Regret now for buying 7.
