iPhone 7 - Keeps Freezing!!!

Had issues like this with my iPhone 6+. Finally had enough and got the iPhone 7+. It was better for a day or two, but actually I am back to the same old issues. Facebook: freezes. Safarai: freezes. Mail: freezes.

Sometimes I can't even get out of a screen or double-tapping the home button does nothing. I can't even make a call. Or turn down the volume if something is playing. Really awful.

I have the 256GB model with half of it empty. Not acceptable really.

I'm having the same experience. The phone app started freezing in my iPhone 6 starting 2 updates ago, but I purchased an iPhone 7 and thought it would disappear but did not. The person who now has my old iPhone 6 does not have the problem, thus leading me to believe it is software. I hoped the next update would clear it up, but it has not. I'm up to date 10.2.1 and it seems to be getting more frequent.

IN ADDITION: Not associated with the freezing, it heats up to hot if I speak longer than 15+ minutes.

Having same freezing issues with brand new iPhone 7's. Waiting for my third device. Has this issue been resolved for anyone who has posted here? If anyone is still following this discussion, is Verizon your carrier? Curious as to whether it's just a problem with Verizon phones because some iPhone 7's seem to have no freezing problems, yet other people get phone after phone with a freezing problem.

I have an iPhone7 and it just started freezing today. I would be in the middle of a text message and suddenly the message app would close/crash. That's when it started freezing up. How do you stop this from happening?

Purchased my iPhone7 on att yesterday, hopping off the big G platform to apple, so far my phone has frozen multiple times, picked up calls and immediately hung up on them, freaks out and makes incorrect noises when initiating actions when using lg brand Bluetooth headset

Also despite being on wifi all night it stopped downloading audiobooks, eating data after I left for work.

The IPhone immediately required updating once I got it on wifi, which isn't a big deal to me, just info that it received some kind of update (I'm not versed on the iOS platform)

Sounds like everyone is having the same issue. I took mine to the Genius Bar and the guy acted like he's never heard of this issue. I call BS. They gave me a new phone , which I set up as new, have had it for a week and still having the same issue. I didn't even sync the new one for fear of the "corrupted app" theory. There is a DEFINITE bug at play and I don't think they really know what the issue is.

Apple just so you know you have an explanation to give and ideally to come up with a solution into WHY iPhone 7 keeps freezing ??! Apps are running in the background, phone rings if someone calls, etc, yet the screen stays frozen showing a single image as if it was a printscreen. Fingerprint does not work seems like it's frozen too. Cannot switch the phone off, nor hard reset it ! I have bought it nearly a month ago and now I have to spend my evening trying to dig for a solution...

Another issue which it did happen about 15 time within a single month so far was the phone back camera. On various occasions while taking a picture it shows a black screen instead of the camera itself - although when I take the picture it does show that it's been taken. Not really happy to embrace the idea of taking pictures with a black screen.

And by the amount of people that just happen to encounter same issues, seems like this problems were known by Apple before phone was released in 1st place. Therefore SHAME on you for fooling your customers..and this is how customers will eventually chose a different route..😟

I have this same problem, Apple has replaced my phone twice and no change. Their service will know nothing about it when you call in, only one acknowledged it was a common issue. They will ask you to reset and reload everything which will do nothing, I've done it 20 times at least on three different phones. One "genius" even cost me my backup because they didn't know what they were doing. Apple's service has really gone down hill in the last few years and now it seems the products are too. Best part is you can't even review their service and now they all claim to be senior advisors so their is no recourse when you get a bad one, unless you are close to a store. Anyway I have done all the trouble shooting, Apple stepped up and replaced my phone twice now, but it still does the same thing.

Mine started to act up yesterday. It seems every time the keyboard is pulled out then it would freeze. Problem is more prominent in the text msg app. Sometimes I'm wondering if it's cuz I used the magnet to mount it on the car??! Very frustrating to have to reboot every time.

Mine is about 5days old and it started to freeze on 2nd day too.

It randomly freezes for about 5seconds few times a day and also restarts by itself about twice a day...

dont know if it is software issue or hardware...

At the same time my friend uses iphone 7 about half a year and he has never seen these problems...

I was having the same problem so I contacted Apple Support and they told me to go to a computer with iTunes and restore my phone. You would need to back it up first if you want to save your things, but it worked! They said it may be a problem with the software since I started experiencing the freezing problem after I updated my phone.

I have the same issues. Intermittent freezing every few mins and I'm very annoyed plus my brightness is horrible. I tried hard reset didn't work. Sending it to Apple once I can get a hand on a spare phone

I am having the same issues. It started yesterday around 6pm when I noticed a new software update was available. Phone started acting up before I even updated. Like a fool, I updated the software thinking it would fix the bugs. Now my phone freezes every 10 seconds for 10+seconds regardless of app or area of navigation. Can't take phone calls, cannot get thru either end during freeze. To use the phone I have to exercise extreme patience. So far I've tried restoring the phone multiple times and everytime it hangs up @terms and conditions agreement. I even tried a full factory reset. No bueno! Going to the apple store to look for a fix.

I have had the exact same problem but this happens in all areas of my phone!! I have tried everything to get it fixed. I tried hard restarting a million times, restored and I even took it to the Apple Store to get it fixed and they said it was water damage when I'm sure it isn't so I'm still stuck with this problem.
