iPhone 7 - Keeps Freezing!!!

I wiped my iPhone and set up as a new iPhone and it continues to freeze. If this does not resolve soon I will schedule a Genius Bar appointment. The software update didn't help.

Having very similar issues.

When I first got the iPhone 7 I did a restore from my iPhone 6s.

The phone was freezing as was stated above and I also had the NO SERVICE issue others have stated after coming out of Airplane mode. The battery also appeared to be draining quiet fast. I also had the camera freeze or go black when the camera app was open.

I scheduled a Genius Bar appointment and was told to do a clean setup.

I performed a clean setup and the NO SERVICE issue seems to be gone.

Issues that still persist is camera going black/locking, phone itself freezing/locking when opening phone app or messages app. I'm testing the battery to see if it still drains - a bit complicated since I have the Official Apple extended battery case.

It will be a week of use on Friday, Sept 30th, I will go back to the Genius Bar and have them pull the diagnostics records. Will update with results then.

I have had my iphone 7 for only 3 days and the message app continues to freeze up as I am typing. There seems to be no pattern. It has gotten so bad that I can only send 1-2 word texts because any more than that it will freeze the keyboard, etc. The only way to get out of it is to completely close the screen then go back in but unfortunately you will have lost what you have already typed. By the third time typing the same thing I am ready to throw the phone out the window. Apple fix this issue or the phone is going back and I am switching to another manufacturer because I can not deal with the constant freezing. It is so bad I had to go to my stand alone computer to even send this message to Apple!!! Help! Has anyone gotten a fix for this. I have tried going back to the manufacturer settings and deleting everything but it did not work. I have IOS 10.2, the latest version on the phone.

Have you tried wiping your phone completely and setting it up as a new iPhone?

Yep. I first down loaded from the cloud. I was still having issues and thought maybe some of my apps were causing the problem so then I wiped out the phone completely and set it up as a new phone. It continued to freeze when typing. I have since turned it completely off and turned it back on and fingers crossed it hasn't had any issues yet.

Just happened to me. The touch screen freezes. Try to close but screen sliding does not work. Siri works only on oral commands. Finally it unfroze by itself. Strange behavior loosing touchscreen swiping ability. Finally backed up phone and managed a hard reboot. Hope this does not reoccur.

Happens for me to every time I want to use the phone app. It's completely unresponsive for 15 - 30 seconds, then shuts down. Once I open the phone app again it works for a while. This is ridiculous - the phone should work!!!

This keep happening to me. today it happened twice.

My iPhone 7 freezes multiple times a day. Apple support had me restore as a new iPhone. Downloading the iOS took almost three hours on with a fast internet connection on my end. The restoration was a waste of time and I still don't know if this is a hardware or software problem. It takes 5 days to get a service appointment at an Apple Store. I am disappointed in Apple.

Still not having any issues with the IPhone 7 since I turned off (shut down)the phone completely. It has been over 24 hours With no problems. Seeing that I was having issues with almost every text I was typing this hopefully has solved the problem. Not sure why but optimistically happy.

Similar freezing and what seems like a bug with the phone keeps happening to me.

I've only had it 2 DAYS!

It happens when I'm streaming from a website, it happened while listening to voicemail.

It doesn't seem related to anything in particular. Seems like a bug.

Please fix this! It's very frustrating to have this happen on a brand new and very expensive device.

ITs doig the the same thing. Freezing, almost like when you reached max capacity hard drive. Except, I have 128 gigs and it's only been 2 Weeks!

Having same freezing issue. In Safari, then the screen freezes, no touchscreen or physical buttons do anything, but the screen is mostly white except headers and clock keeps updating, and the device heats up. Thanks for the post about the new hard reset being the volume down + sleep/wake button, that worked to get it back to normal. iPhone 7 running 10.0.2. Applied needs to fix this bug as clearly it is impacting a lot of users.

YeS!!! my Iphone 7 PLus keeps freezing too! it will get stuck randomly for a minute or so while im texting or maneuvering through apps.

Mine is doing the same! And now I can't make or receive calls. If I try to pick up a call the whole thing locks. If I try to make a call there's no sound at all. No ring, no static, nothing. texting works fine. I'm going to see if I can get a replacement after work. I'm making calls to my husband on my ipad but can only do FaceTime. This is ridiculous. Hard reset didn't work. Taking back to factory settings didn't work. Should have just kept my 5s.
