In my case, the logout occurs every 3 to 4 hours. Moments before, Safari turns erratic (see images) and then, the login screen appears.

Sadly, I don't have "com.apple.universalaccess.plist" or "Rapport" file in the library folder.

These are the error messages in Terminal:

error 13:03:18.935144 +0100 assistant_service warning: dynamic accessors failed to find @property implementation for 'uniqueId' for entity ABCDInfo while resolving selector 'uniqueId' on class 'ABCDInfo'. Did you remember to declare it @dynamic or @synthesized in the @implementation ?

I think you probably have a different problem than most of what has been reported in this thread, which is a predictable crash to the login screen upon going to fullscreen with any app (including the Finder), going to full screen with a video, and switching spaces with keyboard commands or swiping.

I haven't seen your error messages mentioned before in this thread. You may want to do a more general search, start a separate thread, or contact Apple Support.

Sorry.

Just to add:

Some of us don't have this predictability thing.

Mine just goes to the login screen randomly. Not anything to do with full screen or switching.

Also when just browsing, or even when just reading, not touching the mouse or anything.

Some times once, sometimes 5 times within a minute.

The only thing I have found is that it ONLY happens when the external monitor is connected. When just using the laptop screen I never get these random login screens.

Creating a new user doesn't help either.

Deleting com.apple.universalaccess.plist file: no joy.

Turning off hardware acceleration in Chrome: still no joy.

Reboots and resets (NVRAM and SMC): nope.

Installing/removing Little Snitch: no go.

I don't have this Trustee Rapport thing.

So I guess some issue with the GPU driver or something...

I nearly am always sitting with an external monitor connected so I hadn’t noticed that was a factor. But yes, when my monitor is connected is when it happens. I also have none of the other potentially compounding factors that people have mentioned above and none of the suggestions did anything to stop mine. I think that things which force you to restart just put it off for a while and you think it’s better, and then it’s not.

For what it's worth, I have an external monitor too but when I was having the problem it didn't seem to make a difference whether it was connected or not. I also don't have Trusteer Rapport or DuetDisplay installed (I checked) nor do I have a Razer device, all of which have been reported to cause the crash to the login screen. I thought I was having random crashes to the login screen also but, ironically I only figured this out after the problem was fixed, what was really happening was that certain actions by me (activating certain menus in the menubar (like Creative Cloud)) were trying to make my Mac automatically switch to a different Space. It would look like a random crash but, once fixed, the Space change occurred, which is how I first realized, with some astonishment, that things were working again.

The one thing that I've seen almost universally in this group is that a fresh account does not have the crashes. Safe Boot also seems to work okay, though it's no fun, for just about everyone. If you still have the crashes with a fresh account or Safe Boot, you may have a deeper system issue, somewhat different from what's been mostly reported here. I agree that it may be a driver issue.

I have the exact same set up as you but also experience the auto-logout issue.

Except this happens when the machine is inactive. I leave the machine on with myself logged in in screensaver mode. When I return to the machine either the next morning or in the evening after work my session has been logged out.

All energy saving options are disabled and as specified before, the configuration is the same as the original poster.

Shocking shocking software. I have had intermittent freezes/crashes for a couple of months now and whilst working onsite with my iMac last week, my mac just would not start up again... not in safe mode, utility mode or verbose. A total nightmare and I lost a days pay.

I tried all methods of getting the mac back up and running today, including reseating the ram and carrying out hard disk utility tests. In fact I was on my iPad, looking up the phone number of the company I purchased the Mac from with the intension of returning it under warranty tomorrow. Then I noticed the Rapport icon in System Preferences... I turned it off and hey presto my mac is now up and working again! I found the .dmg for Rapport and did a complete uninstall just to be on the safe side.

DO NOT use Rapport Trusteer.... it will KILL your Mac!
