Logic Pro 9 keeps crashing when I try to save in macOS Sierra.

Never had this problem before, but since I updated to macOS Sierra, Logic Pro 9 keeps crashing every time I attempt to save a new project. At first I thought it was a problem with my iMac (Mid or Late 2012), but it's also happening in my MacBook Pro (Late 2011).

How am I even supposed to work if I cannot save any progress?

Is anybody else experiencing this issue? Do you know how to solve it? Please, help, this is an urgency…

iMac, macOS Sierra (10.12), 2.7 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5

I was having the same problem after doing a hard disk wipe and a fresh OS install. Can confirm that disabling iCloud Drive resolves the issue (running Logic in both 32-bit mode and 64-bit mode, so far as I can tell). The program would crash whenever I would try to save, save as, or load an effect plug-in preset or whenever I created a new audio channel with Record Enable set to 'on' as well. Switch iCloud Drive off (not all of iCloud, just the drive portion), and it should be smooth sailing.

Cheers!

I do find this to be a very strange, odd issue. On the surface at least, iCloud Drive functionality did not change in Sierra. The sidebar in finder is the same and all of the workflows did not change (on the 'surface' at least, again). So I wonder is it something that they could easily fix, something they deliberately did or... ? Now with another macOS update today - is there a chance the thing might be fixed and back on a track?

Also, it seems like other apps are not affected at all and in Logic 9 it's purely a finder integration thing, nothing else. Because it just affects commands that 'call' finder, like save as, bounce, etc.

Great news everybody! Internet seems silent about the issue... Found it occasionally by launching the wrong app. After macOS 10.12.4 update, Logic Pro 9 Works again!!! I've tested on two of my laptops and will attempt installing new OS on main Mac pro with backup drive off (so nothing gets overwritten) for testing. But I have a feeling that two machines did not "just change minds", looks like Apple fixed something in the OS!!!:)

New OS upgrades, any platform, require (especially professionals) you wait until your apps and plugins have been updated for that OS version. Do NOT ever upgrade your OS until that happens. Apple will have updates soon, as they always have shortly after an upgrade. Couple for few weeks, it'll be fine.

LPX on EC was very stable and pleasant.

Wise words BenB

Though I am not sure this is the case regarding the latest version of Logic and the latest OS, I am sure this will work flawlessly , as Logic is Apples own product.

Though, interfaces and other software, plug ins etc, thats a different story, you do need to check all the manufactures sites for compatibility.
