Logic Pro 9 keeps crashing when I try to save in macOS Sierra.

Never had this problem before, but since I updated to macOS Sierra, Logic Pro 9 keeps crashing every time I attempt to save a new project. At first I thought it was a problem with my iMac (Mid or Late 2012), but it's also happening in my MacBook Pro (Late 2011).

How am I even supposed to work if I cannot save any progress?

Is anybody else experiencing this issue? Do you know how to solve it? Please, help, this is an urgency…

iMac, macOS Sierra (10.12), 2.7 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5

I CONFIRM Montydj's solution... TURN OFF iCloud Drive to enable Logic Pro 9

However wierd it sounds if you go into system, preferences, select icloud and then temporarily for the priod you are working with Logic Pro - TURN OFF icloud drive THEN Logic Pro 9 suddently works fine, saves, bounes all without crashing! THANKYOU Monty.

Meanwhile restarting icloud drive takes seconds - so it is a workaround I can live with.

Try this Alan if you want to use iCloud Drive & Logic Pro 9 at the same time its works for me 🙂

Close Logic Pro 9 make sure you have the iCloud Drive box "checked" in "system preferences" so it is running but remove the iCloud drive from the finder sidebar bar "right click" "Remove From Sidebar" now go to spotlight search & type in "iCloud Drive" do not press enter just drag the "iCloud Drive" (make sure it is the actual app) icon onto your desktop! now you have access to iCloud Drive from your desktop which is cool anyways & Logic Pro 9 working at the same time!...

I think the real problem of Logic Pro 9 crashing is something to do with iCloud Drives location path to Logic Pro 9 or vice versa it could even be just a particular iCloud Drive file that is causing the crash but i have spent to long on this now i am happy that Logic Pro 9 is working & is working better than ever again Sierra ROCKS!... i feel the guys at Apple have really tidied up the graphics GUI etc in Mac OSX!...

Monty - many thanks indeed you are so kind. I rarely access my icloud drive - i just let it do its thing, so removing it from finder and having a shortcut instead is no great problem to me. Your solution means everything works as normal. I am most grateful as I cannot afford to upgrade my Logic Pro and it sounds like if I did it wouldn't be perfect yet anyway.

All the best and much appreciated. Alan

I have just had this issue, and in all honesty, it has been happening for a while. Every time I go to bounce a track or save file in a different location, the programme crashes.

Just having a look though the first couple of posts, I read to disable iCloud...and hey presto, everything is working fine. I can now do everything I need to.

So simple fix - disable iCloud.

Logic Pro 9 keeps crashing when I try to save in macOS Sierra.
