iOS 10.1 Battery drain

Hello.

Updated my iPhone 5 to iOS10.1 and have been having battery problems.

1 - It jumps from 30% charge to 1% in a few seconds then shuts down.

Now here is the stranger part.

As soon as it reboots after connecting to a charger it show 30% charge. When I unplug it right away it still shows 30% and runs like nothing happened for a good few hours.

So it goes from zero charge to 30% in the time it takes to reboot? Strange.

2 - Shutting the phone down at night with a good 80% charge, it won't reboot in the morning due to no battery charge. I plug it in and its back to 30% in a few seconds.

to check the Battery Cycle count. It was at 432 and the design capacity is 1550 for an iPhone 5S

Just an update from me. Today my battery is totally fine. In fact it's almost like it's super charged. I've been using it quite a bit for over an hour and it's still at 100%. Normally it would have gone down a percent or two by now. No IOS downloads or anything it just seems to have resolved itself. Unless the Apple tech did something and didn't tell me.

used icopybot.com and found a CDDB Battery update. I did a google search to see what that was and found the link below.

No. contacted Apple chat support and he was able to tap into my phone to run the battery health check that way. I just had to be on a wifi connection and perform a couple of steps on my end and that's all it took.

And yet another update from me. I spoke too soon. I was going about my day happily with my batter functioning fine (or so I thought) when all of a sudden...DEAD at 65%. I plug it in, it says 1% and immediately jumped back to 65%. So apparently the issue didn't magically resolve itself and I'm walking around with a ticking time bomb that can go dead at any moment which is always great. I really hope they get this fixed soon!

Same issue here. After updating to ios10.1.1 battery is draining super fast and my iPhone 6s is always pretty warm. Never had an issue before. Tried to shut the phone with home button and power button but didn't change much. Pls release a fix asap thank you

UPDATE #4

1- Use Battery Life from the App store( by Nga Nguyen )

2 - find your battery life wear level. If you can do this before you update to iOS 10.1 that would help.

Same here...mine crashes as well (regardless of what I'm doing) and immediately indicates dead battery...has to be plugged in...latest update hasn't helped...pretty much rendering my phone almost useless at this point.

Mine is definitely due to the update...wish I hadn't done it and not too pleased about having to buy a new battery due to an update...especially since there's no guarantee it'll just do the same to the new one.

Battery draining very fast on iPhone 6s after update to iOS 10.1.1. Battery is new and was working perfectly before. Tried everything, including new install (total swipe.) With just the native Apple apps and not using the phone battery is down 10% in 15 minutes.

My battery is draining fast too. My battery percentage was 100 this morning. I used it for 3 hours and now it's at 49% with only light use of Twitter, WhatsApp and YouTube.

I'm having this same issue.

Today morning my iPhone showed 58 % percent battery life and then it suddenly Turned off, when I try to turned it on again, the no- battery indicator appears.

So I plugged it in, it showed 35% Percent. I plugged it off and leave it turned on So I can test if it goes down again suddenly.... so far now, it goes 24% And still Going

My guess is that it's a bug.

Since upgrading to 10.1.1, the battery drain has been pronounced and erratic---draining almost completely and quickly and suddenly with no apparent reason. The phone also gets unusually hot. Help Apple!!!
