iOS 10.1 Battery drain

Hello.

Updated my iPhone 5 to iOS10.1 and have been having battery problems.

1 - It jumps from 30% charge to 1% in a few seconds then shuts down.

Now here is the stranger part.

As soon as it reboots after connecting to a charger it show 30% charge. When I unplug it right away it still shows 30% and runs like nothing happened for a good few hours.

So it goes from zero charge to 30% in the time it takes to reboot? Strange.

2 - Shutting the phone down at night with a good 80% charge, it won't reboot in the morning due to no battery charge. I plug it in and its back to 30% in a few seconds.

Thanks for any suggestion in advance.

I'm also encountering pretty severe and erratic battery drain on my iPhone 6S. I find that is suddenly drops several percentage points. The problem seemed to start at some point since iOS 10 was released but seems more pronounced since installing 10.1/10.1.1. I had my battery tested a couple of weeks ago at an AASP who said the battery was healthy.

I've run the battery all the way down and charged to 100% more than one. I've reset network settings, reset all settings and done a full restore. The only thing I haven't tried is setting up as a new phone since I don't want to loose all my iMessage, Activity and Health data.

After clean install (total swipe) didn't help I downgraded to 10.1. This version gave me no problems before. Now the same thing happens: battery draining very fast with just the native Apple apps. Makes me wonder if it's the firmware or an app that's leaking. With no widgets or third party apps installed, Home & Lock screen uses an incredible amount of power, almost 60%. Battery is definitely OK, with 0% wear.

I had the battery drain problem since I updated to ios 10.0.1. The battery dropped from 100% to 70% without any usage in 6 hours. I already reset the the iphone and restored it but did not help. And with the hope that the ios update would solve problem. But I just keep disappointed everytime after updated to 10.0.2, 10.1 and even 10.1.1⋯

Please apple could you fix the problem please!!!!

Having same issue on iPhone 6s since updating. Started shutting down at 30-40%, and when plugged in it would power on and show 30-40% battery. I did a complete restore as recommended by apple support with no change. But the shut downs have been happening more frequently now and have started with as much as 70-80% battery life.

So this question goes to Apple.

What are you going to do, and when?
