I have an iPhone 6s running the latest iOS (10.1.1) and recently my notes app has disappeared, I think it's probably related with the new operating system, the fact is that I can't find the app on the iPhone. I already tried searching for it on the phone with no success. In the mail app they don't have the backup of my recent notes and I don't have them synced with iCloud.
Does anyone know how can I get my notes back?

I'm Norbert sure about iCloud backups but, if it's an encrypted backup it should restore your notes app as well as all the notes that were on it at the time of the initial backup you're using.
This worked beautifully for me- notes app tile has reappeared too
I am needing a answer about deleted notes
I did what others suggested, go into Settings-General-Reset-Reset Home Screen Layout. Got my Notes back, did not lose anything.
I also cannot find my notes app. How do I get it back including its content?
I tried settings/general/reset/reset home screen and while other icons/apps moved around, notes did not reappear. Aargh.
I tried going to the App Store but there are a million notes apps - none plain and simple , i.e. Mine from before
