2016 macbook pro 15" with touch bar poor battery life

I just received my new 15" MacBook Pro with touch bar. The battery life is horrible!!! I have Safari open with 6 tabs and with 95% battery, I am told that I have under 3 hours of battery life left! I thought these things were supposed to get 10 hours? I ran the battery down in 3 hours last night only browsing the web. I wasn't watching videos, just browsing. Is there something wrong with my laptop?

I just contacted Apple Support. They told me to erase my SW and try again with a clean OS. Are you kidding me? I migrated my apps using Apple's migration tool. I received my laptop on Thursday and apparently Apple shows that I only have 7 days left to return this thing. I am so frustrated. I don't have enough time to re-install all of my apps one by one in the next week. I am not just sitting around on my computer all day. They wouldn't offer to ship me a new mac either. They said I couldn't return it at an Apple store either since I bought it online. I paid over $3000 for this and I can't return it to the store????

If you ordered from apple.com, you can take it back to any retail store, at least in the US.

I experienced poor battery performance from the 13" MacBook Pro and took it back. I was hopeful that the 15" would provide better performance, but this thread has me a bit concerned. It appears that Apple was more hopeful of the battery technology than what experience reflects. I appreciate the reduction in weight, but I would have preferred the size and weight of the prior chassis in order to have greater battery life.
