iCal will not send if location is added to event

I've noticed in the last 2 weeks or so that people haven't responded (accept, decline or maybe) to my ical invites. I just realized they haven't been getting them. I tried some trouble shooting and found that all of the invites I sent with no location specified sent correctly, but if an event had the location/address added it did not go at all. It's on my calendar, but it shows no one has responded and in fact no one received the invites.

Help! I use this feature all the time and the location is a key component.

PS I've created these invites from my iMac, iPad and iPhone.

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 10.1.1

I tried these settings as well. They were already set up the way you suggested. I can send an ical without a location and see it get send instantly to my invitee, but the second I put a location in it stops sending. I'm totally stumped. It's not like I can't send an ical at all. So it's working to some degree, just not with a location. Which is pretty important. Any other ideas?

Side note: It also does not like when I put in a URL. I can say any word, but when it sees it as an address with .com it stops sending. It's like this issue is all about addresses.

I was able to add an attachment just fine and that sent to my invitee, but anything with addresses causes and issue.

You are only concerned about location ( maps are not added ) , I think in system preferences > security & privacy > location services , calendars , Siri & dictation , weather must be checked .

An another method is also there to create an event & add locations .

Open calendar right click on the date & create a new event .Take cursor on top menu bar > click on window > address panel . Yo can drag and drop locations from here to new event & click on send .

Open calendar , create an event can redo the event by taking cursor on top menu bar & click on edit > choose Redo change URL for new event .

Then try to send .

I tried all of these and it still does not work. 😟 I appreciate the ideas though.

Also I will say when I create the event on any of my devices the location pulls up and looks normal on my side. I see the address, I see the little map of the location. It all looks normal on my side. It's just it will not send to invitees.

I am having the same problem... SOOOO annoying.

If i make the event and send it out they get it and then if I put the location info in after I think it pushes to their event.. but i'll confirm this later...

I had a few criminally annoying missed events because of this issue. ugg

Also I can completely confirm that this did just start happening in the last few weeks for me as well. I use the invite feature to my two people pretty much daily. It only recently started not sending them the actual invites.

Did you get a new device or did anything change in your settings? The only thing I can think of is that I just got a new iPhone 7 Plus. I set up the new phone from a backup per usual. Sorry it's happening to you as well, but I'm glad it's not just me.

I got a new iPhone 7 yes... but didnt see it happening with it right away... but i can't completely confirm it wasn't.

No i had a NIGHTMARE time again setting up my new phone... as I did with the last one for some reason... I miss the days when i would just get my new phone and plug it in and it would transfer flawlessly... but so much of Apple seems to not work as well anymore....

Interesting. This issue is happening to me and my mom and we both got new iPhones. Now I see it's happening to another person who also recently got a new iPhone. I have an open ticket with Apple, we did some troubleshooting today but no luck. When I get a call back tomorrow I'll let them know that another person on the forums is having this exact issue. I'll keep you posted.

thank you yes... also just FYI I have a me.com address as my apple id.

Although in my id's list it does show the alias of iCloud.com that can't be erased (some had mentioned erasing this)

and the people that aren't getting my invites (well there may be more but i usually just do this with two people) have a yahoo.com and a comcast.net address... so.. just so you have more info..

So , the issue is different you are able to add locations , URL , but the person that you are sending the invitation is not accepting / receiving .Some symbols are there for calendar : Calendar (El Capitan): Symbols used in Calendar
