Error -36 launching files from time capsule

Additional details:

Connect Server is under the "Go" menu. Here is the sample of the server address I entered: smb://10.0.1.1 (it's the TC IP address). Then I connect to that server rather than the default TC link.

that's right ...! TC can only be connected via Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
USB port is only intended for auxiliary USB devices (mass storage, perhaps printer).

My TC is connected via Ethernet to the router (in that case Fritz-Box) - but the o.m. behavior is certainly the same while connecting it via Wi-Fi.

I'm having the same experience (Sierra 10.12.2).

But, when I connect to Time Capsule via SMB (not afp!) this error (-36) not occur, file open in required app, but created .dotfiles and .DS_Store-files.

Also got the same problem with opening 'newer' files on TC since upgrade to 10.12.2. Older files on the TC seem to open ok, only recent files have the -36 error. Urgently need a fix from Apple please.

I did report this issue directly to Apple via (https://bugreport.apple.com).

Some days ago, I got the feedback, that other users had informed them too.

Therefore my input is a duplicate and was closed. Anyway, the 'bug' is already known.

I suppose, we have to wait for the next OS- update. I am excited.

FWIW, if you mean by "all of us" those who posted, that is not the global "all of us". But, Apple doesn't do a new release just for one bug. You'll just have to wait for 10.12.3.

Could this be related to "dot_clean" -36 errors (see http://osxdaily.com/2015/02/21/fix-error-code-36-finder-mac-os-x/ for more info)? Basically hidden files (that start with ".") get merged with their corresponding native files.

All applications have a menu bar - File, Edit, etc at the top of the screen. Click on File then Open is what is being talked about. It pops up a window that you can browse to any mounted volume and folder and then select the desired file and click the Open button at the bottom.

As far as I have been able to determine, that behavior is normal in Sierra. I do not know if it is intentional, or a bug.

There is no reason for that concern.

At the moment I can't be sure if the problem started just after the upgrade to 10.12.2 or if worked for a while.

I don't recall either, since I never had reason to launch an app residing on a TC. It may be a bug, but there is no reason to believe anything is wrong with the TC.

For what it's worth it also occurs on hard disk drives connected to the TC's USB port, so that's even less reason to suspect anything wrong with the TC itself.

I experience same issue since last update 10.12.2.
