How do I delete the Wallet App from my iphone?

My iphone, with the new update, suddenly had a new app installed entitled "Wallet." This app has my credit card information, plus other personal details, which I never authorized for Apple to use. I have attempted to delete the app using the "touch" system to no avail. There is no way, and I have tried several icloud maneuvers, to delete the credit card or personal information contained in this app.

What's frightening, if I lose my phone, misplace it, or loan it to someone, my credit card information is there for the world to see. I tried to contact Apple, but after literally waiting two hours on the phone, the customer service rep had no answers and then abruptly disconnected me. Do any of you out there know what I can do? This is a horrific invasion of my privacy. Thank you.

I think you are all missing the point. I didn't ask for this app, I didn't

authorize the use of my credit card. I don't care if I have security on my

iPad. I don't care if it's only three, four. or six digits. I don't want

the Wallet App! I don't want any of my numbers of any of my credit cards

on my iPad. That is my right as an individual who believes in democracy

and abhors fascism.

Listen, I am 66 years old and do not want my life controlled by any person,

corporation, government, or board. I want to make decisions for myself

after six and a half decades of living. This Wallet App being forced upon

me is an absolute invasion of my life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.

That's a quote from a document most of you should have studied in 7th grade.

If the product doesn't suite you or meet your wishes or needs, don't use it. You purchased an iPhone which includes a license to use iOS (you did not ourchase iOS and do not own the operating system nor associated software). You agreed to the license terms when you chose to activate and use it. At this time, the wallet app is a non-user removable part of the operating system bundle. You cannot delete it, but you can choose not to use it.

And I have no idea what your age has to do with anything. A lot is here are near your age or older, and it has about as much to do with any of this as the price of a cup of tea in China has to do with the current temperature in Bismarck S.D.

Two points...

1 - You're credit card is not being used for anything. It is there if you wish to use ApplePay. It cannot be used unless you choose to use it and you use your fingerprint/touchID when using it.

and it's simple enough to remove.

2 - You added this info to Wallet app. It doesn't auto-populate. How/where would it get this info? Unless someone else with access to your phone and your wallet added it for you. Perhaps your kids helped you set up your phone?

According to Apple, my credit card information was retrieved when I used it to purchase a movie from i tunes. I never authorized its use for any app. Not only can't I remove the app from my i phone, I cannot remove the credit cards from the app. My kids would know better than to do anything, and I mean anything, for me without my approval or blessing. I am still the master of my domain, and at 67 can take all my sons and son in laws "to the hoop."

So you didn't purchase a movie using iTunes?

Regardless, in order to add your CC to Apple Pay from your iTunes account (but you've never used your CC in iTunes, right?) you need to add your 3 digit security code from the card.

I never set up Apple Pay! That's why I can't remove my credit cards, since

when I go to the appropriate website to remove my cards, it has this to

click on, "Set up Apple Pay."

I don't want to set up Apple Pay. I just want to remove my credit cards

from the Wallet App on my iPhone.

I have my card listed for purchases on i tunes. What does that have to do with the app Wallet? I don't mind my credit card on record with i tunes. I just don't want that credit card number listed in an app that's readily available on my i phone. I often lend my phone to my students to phone their parents when there is an issue in my class. Do you think I want them to have access to my credit card number?

For God's sake. This is not Fascism and anyone that would make such an outlandish claim certainly has not lived under Fascism. If you're displeased with your Apple product, drop it in the trash and purchase a different product. This time, investigate more thoroughly to ensure that the replacement product meets with your requirements. That's the best way to maintain your life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.

By the way, I'm 75 but that really has nothing to do with the issue.

That's right. I'm a teacher. There is no land line in my classroom. Thus, my students, who are not allowed to have cell phones in their classes, must use my i phone to make any call. Now, with that enforced WALLET app on the face of my I phone, a nefarious student can find several numbers of my credit cards. I don't want that!

Sent from my iPhone

1 - Why would you lend you iPhone to your students (especially your nefarious students) and let them wander off with it??

2 - Why don't you have your iPhone secured with a passcode?

3 - Why don't you simply delete your CC from Apple Wallet?

1. It is the only phone I have in my classroom. Issues arise in which

students must call home. For example,

a. "I left my lunch at home."

b. "I left my science project in my Mom's car."

c. Communicating with parents when there is an issue in the

classroom. I often have the students phone Mom or Dad, and we speak with

he/she together.

2. I have a passcode, but if someone needs to use the phone, I have

already inputed my passcode.......

3. There is no way to delete the credit card from the Wallet App.

You're saying that you allow the students to use your phone AND TO WALK AWAY FROM YOU WHILE DOING SO? Anyone concerned about security would watch them while they're using the phone. You're not the master of any domain.

I honestly wish this app did not exist. I don't use the app nor do I intend to as I refuse to keep that information on any site for that matter. Plus I can not necissarily protect my info at the moment since my phone has decided to become an ******* and not allow me to use my touch id or the home button for that matter. I have no apple store within a 300 mile radius of me, and I don't think that my phone provider will be able to assist me much. So apart from everything this app is basically just a waste of space like many other required apps.

The CC information in your wallet is useless without your touchID. Even if someones had access to your phone, they cannot get any info such as your CC info from Wallet since this info is not stored in the Wallet.
