iPhone 6 battery drain ios 10.2 problem

Like a lot of people, my iphone 6 was fine until Dec 2016 when I updated my ios. I began getting the 30% battery shut down. Then in Jan 2017 after updating my ios again, it began draining fast. Whereas I normally would have about 85% after getting home from work, now I'm below 50% by lunchtime. This is with my phone basically in my pocket with everything shut off (push, refreshes, notifications, etc.).

I talked with Apple support. They diagnosed my battery as being fine. Told me to do a clean reset and set up my phone as a new phone. I wiped the phone using WiFi and it still had the problem. I then wiped it out again using itunes and after setting it up as a new phone still had the same drain problem.

I've followed every suggestion from Apple links about battery tips. Everything is turned off. Nothing has fixed the problem. Forced to use a battery case now. Only thing left is to replace the battery, but Apple says the battery is fine so how would that fix anything...obviously it's a ios code glitch.

Do I pay $100 for a new battery (that prob won't fix the issue) or wait for another ios update to fix the issue?

Hi,

I have been facing the same issue since last couple of months. I read an article online on how to prevent battery drain in iPhone 6s.

There I found one solution that worked for me.

Disable PUSH in your mail application for all your email accounts as well and keep it to FETCH instead. That ought to do the trick.

Hello, I updated my phone about 2 months ago now and ever since i updated to the newest version of ios my phone has had nothing but battery issues. I had them run a diagnosis on my phone 2 weeks ago and it came back fine so I shut my phone off for 3 hours while at work and it fixed my battery issue but now my phone is shutting off at 40% again. when I go into my battery in settings it says my phone battery may need to be serviced. Anyone else getting this message?

I am having the same issue. I purchased my phone 10-2016, so it isn't even paid off. I am getting 2 hours of standby and 45 minutes of usage and my phone is at 38%. It randomly cuts off, I have missed several important phone calls due to this. When my phone gets to 10% left, I can plug it in and the percentage shoots up to at least 25%. I can trust this phone. I have reset the phone to factory setting twice and uploaded everything from the cloud and also reset it and manually added each app. I had an iPhone 4 for 5 years and the battery on it is better than the battery on my iPhone 6!
