Hi, my wife's Apple Watch screen has suddenly shattered. The watch was on her wrist and we were just watching tv. Her wrist wasn't moving, we heard a crack, then the screen had shattered completely. I know this sounds completely strange but it actually happened! Has anyone else heard of such a fault? I could understand if the Watch had been dropped or knocked but it wasn't, it was stationary on her wrist?
Any ideas?

I am not discounting your expertise, just explaining what happened to me. I’m not sure I would believe what happened to my watch if I didn’t experience it first-hand. That’s what makes it so frustrating. Not only am I out an expensive watch, essentially I am being called a liar as well.
I put my watch on the table the next morning the lens was popped open and the glass was cracked. I brought it in and they said it was my fault and since I have AppleCare they charged me $70. I tried to dispute this and 5 people later they said I have to go to the Apple store and take it up with them. Time to contact consumer affairs.

Wow, reading all this. I begged for the new watch for Xmas. All I keep hearing about are problems. People scratching the screens. It’s a sports watch! Aren’t these watches pushed for activity? They need to take a hit. My daughter has a Fitbit - that thing has been through the woods & no problems. She treats it like crap. I’m an apple girl. Now thinking this was a bad decision. I working out- not worried about my watch.
Exact same thing happened to me!! I was racking my brain to try & think of what I could have hit hard enough for my watch to shatter, yet me have no memory of it! One minute it was fine, the next time I look it’s totally shattered!!! Looked like it’s been run over by a bus!
Really? A sports watch that is supposedly handling running, hiking water and it can’t handle being in our wrist? Apple I am disappointed in the quality of this product and your lack of supporting customers with a better watch. Obviously this is not a user issue and you continue to sneak around finding reasons to not fix the problem and issue us a recall notice
Did they return your watch? The same this happened to me two days ago. It’s still under warranty but I am curious if I am going to need to fight them.
They returned it to me, still shattered. Actually, they returned it to the Apple store and I need to go pick it up. They wanted me to pay $229 for them to repair it.

My wife's did just the same thing today! Just sitting at her desk, looked at it, was fine, looked again a little bit later and the screen was shattered and she hadn't gotten up to go anywhere.
Similar here. I put my watch on this morning and realised a crack all around the screen. thats really disapointing because I am really looking after my watch and did not hit it anywhere.
