Hi,
I just updated my version of safari 10.1 and now I suddenly can't drag and drop images to the desktop.
I just keep getting the error report message popup.

Here is a clue...
I am on 27" iMac, late 2015, w/retina, El Capitan, Safari 10.1
Try this and maybe you can make some sense of it...
Were I an Apple engineer I would think I had a good lead here, can anyone shed some light?
Same problem here i replaced Library/Safari folder and erase all history and privacy data and it´s not working on an other mac with sierra works perfectly
Drag and drop works in my Apple Mail, as does the point-click(opt-mail) function from web page. Drag ANY image on Safari and ERROR is my experience.
I have exactly the same issue. So frustrating! Someone did not do their homework before implementing the updates.
I have tried all of the suggestions but the problem continues. As everyone else indicates, drag and drop works just fine with Firefox. Please continue to make suggestions for repair.
I thought it was only images, but I have just discovered that I have the same issue when trying to drag text, too.
😟
Same problem: can no longer drag within or from Safari after updating to Version 10.1 (11603.1.30.0.34). Can still drag •into• Safari. El Capitan 10.11.6, mid-2009 MacBook Pro.
Have you seen any message where the problem was also in Sierra?
YEP. That's it exactly. Now I'm sure I'm on the right page for the problem.
AMEN! Breaking something that used to work shouldn't require an upgrade to fix.
I found a better solution:
I'm using another browser now as the main option. It works great!
Add me too for the same reasons.
It is almost a month that this problem exists.
No solution by end of month means I must change my main browser, NOT OS.
What ClarkFR said.
I can't believe we are still having this conversation after 1 month and apple have done nothing... not even confirmed they know about it, or better yet on the case with fixing it.
"3. Why not just change browser?"
Well, maybe because this is a thread about Safari's glitch and how to FIX it, not how to evade it by quitting on Safari and using another browser altogether.
Yes I know this 🙂 .... but it would also be nice to know that apple listen to its customers.
