I was referring to the keyboard trackpad. However, you have never, on an iPhone been able to leave a group message conversation if anyone in the chat is using SMS. That has not changed.

Yes, as long as everyone in the group is using iMessage, you can do that. If someone is using SMS, you can't.

Sadly, if there are both iMessage and SMS users in the group text, there is no option (in the details of the message itself) to 'leave this message'

You suggest that people reply with "extreme and excessive vulgarities". That's suggesting behavior that is rude where and when I was brought up.

If you don't have the option to leave the chat, it means that someone in the group is using an Android phone.

It's still a feature. It's just one you don't like. Just like all those pointless extra keys on the previous version of the keyboard were a feature I didn't like. It's called personal preference.

I have found that sometimes replying with extreme and excessive vulgarities will prompt the originator to break the group message..

Yes it’s true no ( leave conversation) button!!! It’s driving me crazy

Well, I just hid the alerts, then deleted the text message. I’ll advise you if it worked or not...😃😃

In my opinion, it is a pretty bad oversight on Apple's part, as group texts can be very annoying.

I am nearly 100% sure I left a group text in the above-referenced fashion.

I don’t disagree with you, but it was just a suggestion. There is no technical solution you can offer, and my suggestion has proven to be effective for me in past situations. If the collective opinion of the group feels I should be removed from the conversation then there’s a better chance it will happen. As I said, it may not be the correct solution for you, but it might work for others.
