Leaving Group Text

Seems we all have the same problem. Dammit! I want out if this sms text thread😩 Can the originator remove me?

Yes! The new landscape keyboard is such a relief. I got very tired of hitting that undo button in the lower left on the old one. I also really love the trackpad feature.

How on earth is it a beneficial "feature" (that you or anyone else might prefer) for a user to not be able to extricate themselves quickly and easily from a group text when it was previously available? All because some are iMessage and some are not... Maybe I am missing something.

Okay is it a iMessage (blue bubbles) or SMS/MMS (green bubbles) group message?

Try

Settings -> messages -> group messages (turn off)

No. They will need to start a completely new thread that doesn't include you and stop posting in the original thread.
