Location of microphone on iPad Air 2

When I googled this question, all the answers found, were incorrect. They provided the location of the mic on an iPad Mini or original iPad but this was incorrect for the Air 2. After a bit of testing, I found the location to be a pin hole just above the volume buttons.

Just to clarify, if I have noise in the background and I cover up the pinhole next to the camera I should hear a difference in my recording, is that correct?

This one is Wi-Fi only model A1566, 16G. There isn't a microphone where you suggested.

I have an iPad Air 2 WiFi only and I have both microphones, yours mustn’t be an iPad Air 2 then
