iPad Pro 10.5 screen randomly freezes - anyone else have this?

Brand new (obviously) iPad Pro 10.5. It happens, very intermittently but it happens. It's like the touch screen is dead. Double-clicking the home button brings up the task list. You can then move to a different app. But then the screen is still dead. Turning the screen off and on will reset things, so that the screen becomes live again. Frustrating and not something I've ever seen before. This is my fourth iPad. Maybe it's defective? Just wondering is it just me or do other people see this too.

Mine got a lot better with 11.3 but then restarted with the issue a few days later. Took it to Apple store and they replaced it. Tech said it’s most likely a logic board issue. While reduce motion, and disabling promotion helps this gimps your iPad un necessarily. Just get it replaced. Seems like a known issue they’re just not making public.

Thanks for the reminder and the link! I've made my complaints known there, as I hope many others have also.

i do believe from reading through on this problem that most people are thinking that this is the place to voice our frustrations to Apple.

It is hard to believe that so many are having issues with the iPad Pro models, at the prices that is being asked.

i will speak now with my wallet, when I no longer see so many problems being discussed I may then buy one.

Good luck to all in getting these things worked out and back to enjoying your iPad.

Hi, I have a few months old iPad Pro 10.5 (without cellular) and it has just started to freeze, become unresponsive and sometimes run in super-slow motion i.e. it acts 30 seconds after a button press and sometime the resulting screen is blank and sometime completely blurred. At this time it is useless and cant be used. It has me worried as this was such an expensive purchase. I cant access the settings screen and cant even reset. I am just hoping (although hope is not such an appropriate thing for an expensive high-tech device) that when the battery runs out and it restarts that it may get back to some kind of normality (?)

Sent mine to Apple service centre for checking and was informed they could not simulate the issue and no hardware problem, returned back the iPad Pro to me !

The problem happens randomly and intermittently, and I am left with an iPad Pro which Apple refuses to acknowledge the issue. This is not how customer should be treated, totally unacceptable!

IMHO, the quality of Apple products have declined in recent years. I too have the problem with the iPad Pro, 10.5, 256G. I’ve taken my unit into two (2) Apple stores. I might as well talk to a tree given the response I get from them. Same issues with software updates for iMAC. Very buggy. Today, I saw a story about the signifiant delays in announcing new products and actual release of said products. Very disappointing.

I tried the “Reduce Motion” solution, but can confirm it has made not difference...

The issue has only started for me in the last few months. Prior to this, it has worked flawlessly. I always update iOS immediately upon release, so it can’t be related to iOS prior to one of the most recent updates, however others have had the issue prior to this, so it surely can’t be iOS related at all?
