iPad Pro 10.5 screen randomly freezes - anyone else have this?

Brand new (obviously) iPad Pro 10.5. It happens, very intermittently but it happens. It's like the touch screen is dead. Double-clicking the home button brings up the task list. You can then move to a different app. But then the screen is still dead. Turning the screen off and on will reset things, so that the screen becomes live again. Frustrating and not something I've ever seen before. This is my fourth iPad. Maybe it's defective? Just wondering is it just me or do other people see this too.

Mine got a lot better with 11.3 but then restarted with the issue a few days later. Took it to Apple store and they replaced it. Tech said it’s most likely a logic board issue. While reduce motion, and disabling promotion helps this gimps your iPad un necessarily. Just get it replaced. Seems like a known issue they’re just not making public.

i think this one is the worst apple product i have brought yet. The screen suddenly stops taking touch inputs for me as well. i cant even begin to explain how bad my wifi connectivity has been. i feel so much better using the ipad air2 for now. ios 11 has made the bad battery even worse. i think its just mine casue i havent heard too many people complaining. 30 minutes of music drains over 12% battery with no background apps runnning. i wanna throw this in the bin.

Yes, my new 10.5” 256gb keeps doing this. I have to wait around 10 seconds or so, to get to respond again. Very annoying. None up the updates seem to have fixed this. I have also noticed when typing on screen keyboard, it does not sense all the letters I type, and have to go back and edit. Seems to me that it could be a RAM issue.

Hi I bought a new iPad Pro 10.5 256 gig, 2 weeks ago and have the same problem, the screen freezes.

I updated two time and now with the latest firmware. Still have the problem. It’s very disappointing since the iPad is very expensive and disappointing for my first experience with the iPad.

anyone have an idea how to fix this. After reading the whole thread I think I’m going to go at the apple store and ask for a new device.

also, please note I did Not installed from a backup.

I just tried turning off gestures. And I have iOS version 11.1.2. My ipad 10.5 just froze....AGAIN. It as never STOPPED freezing randomly. I was on a website accessed via Safari.

Apple is getting careless: Insufficient testing before release. Lack of “fixes” when problems are discovered and reported. Non-performing hardware (or is this software...who knows since they have said nothing?)

But by golly, we can sure count on getting more emojis with each new release. I’m a user who needs to USE the product I bought. I need (and thought I was buying) a reliable portable product that will work for my business. I certainly PAID for one. I don't give a hoot about emojis. For those who DO give a hoot, let someone else provide them, just as others provide apps.

Apple, get back to your core competencies (if you still remember what they were). I won't be (and am not currently) tempted by the “next big thing,” whether iPad, iPhone or fancy schmancy “other.” Your competitors are soon gonna eat your lunch, and I say this as someone who has historically been a major fan. You were on top of the world, number one. What the **** happened?

And PS, while I was typing this, random individual keys were ignored so I've had to slow down and make sure every key that was struck was individually recognized. At times, repeatedly and randomly through this message, I’ve had to press-press-press-press various keys to get a letter to show up. NOT GOOD APPLE.
