iPad Pro 10.5 screen randomly freezes - anyone else have this?

I have the 9.7 iPad Pro and it doesn’t have the issue. Only the 10.5 does. My warranty lasts till July. I’ll wait till the last iOS 11 update then ask for a replacment if it continues. ..good luck.disabling promotion still works!

Well it was working great for 2 days and now again problem has came up , and it happens whenever I hold iPad with both hands and have little pressure on left side near camera. Now I am guessing maybe hardware issue

So turning off the 120Hz option works as a temporary fix? Might have to try this out, kind of a shame because 120Hz ProMotion is really nice to have on, but since this freezing issue is severely impacting usability, its worth a shot. If anyone else finds any fixes or workarounds feel free to let all of us know!

I’m having the same problems. The screen just randomly stops responding to touch for a few seconds. The iPad was sent to Apple and they found no problems. Apple put me through to a senior customer services agent and she gave me her number to ring if the problem comes back which it has.

Ill be be ringing her again soon and hopefully something can be done. This is unacceptable for such an expensive device.

I just received my iPad Pro from repair service. Sure enough they didn't find anything. How frustrating. I showed them video of my iPad Pro not responding to touch. They said diagnostics can not be based on video and glitch should occur in their presence.

I took m iPad to the support, showed the touch problem to them, and left the iPad there for two days. Yesterday they said that have restored the iPad and it solved the problem.

When I got home, the same problem continues.

I don’t know what to. But, apple devices never more ☹

I got fed up with this and sold my iPad Pro as apple wont exchange or repair it ... and bought exactly the same new one. It has been two weeks since I bought it and I had no issues, not a single one( knock on the wood, I passed the return window). Maybe it is wrong to give Apple money once again but I am too tied into their ecosystem (and they know it too well)

Same problem on my pro 12.9” 64 GB WiFi. Latest version of iOS, 11.4.1, not restored from backup (intentionally made a clean break from previous past devices to clear unused apps/cruft). Using a 3rd party case. The device doesnt feel particularly warm when the issue occurs.

Unfortunately my second iPad Pro 12.9 2 gen started having touch screen problems. It started with screen freezes while charging. Now it can happen without charging at random times so it is the same as the iPad I sold. I began to notice issues after 2 months after I bought new unit.

Unfortunately resetting and setting as new device didn’t work my old iPad Pro 12.9 2017 that I sold and it didn’t work for my second ipad Pro 12.9 2017. Touch screen freezes and glitches right now as I type. So frustrating.

Same problem on my 10.5” 256gb. Latest iOS update. Very, very annoying

Identical problem, brand new 12.9” 64gb running iOS 11.0.3. Hope Apple quickly acknowledges they have a problem and find a repair ASAP!

My 10.5 started back on 10.3.3. I upgraded thru all of the iOS 11.x.x then to 11.1. It got worse. Now back to 11.0.3 and still freezing or just not responding at all. APPLE CAN YOU HELP PLEASE?

Thanks Startamok, will try the reset in settings (General > Reset > Reset all setting) and see.

Previously i tried the hard reset (hold power and home button together)

Do you use A LOT 3rd party Apps like youtube, google doc or spreadsheet? I guess the problem happen because of 3rd party apps.
