ios 11 update phone freezing

Hi, I updated to ios 11 on my 64GB iPhone 6s without any issues. But since doing so my phone has stopped working 3 times. The problem is that the phone freezes and I can't press any apps or open app switcher, it's just dead. I have to do a force restart to get back up running again.

My 5s has been doing this as well since I updated. There has also been times when I'll dial out and it appears the call is going through, but I don't hear it ringing nor can I hear anything or others hear me if they pick up after calling. It is so frustrating. I feel like I'm doing a force restart on my phone at least 3x a day. These issues aren't cool when I use my phone for business.

I am experiencing the exact same issue. This help guide tells us to force restart...THE ******* PHONE WONT EVEN LET ME RESTART! I have the 7+ and it has taken a complete **** since I updated it. Its almost like they are purposefully doing this to force people to spend $1000 on their new phone which is basically the 7 with the camera on the other side. I am never buying another Apple product again.

I have never had to wait for an appointment at the Genius Bar myself, but maybe my Apple Store has less foot traffic than yours. The idea of wiping and restoring my phone is completely unacceptable to me. The idea that Apple consistently proposes this as the solution to their malfunctioning software is pretty reprehensible. I am an Apple fanboy by the way so don’t get me wrong. I suspect that there are not enough regular users in the apple beta test group.

Everything is slowed down, this was the reason I moved from Android to Apple product because of reliability, it seems there is some problem with upgrade 11 and successive updates.

Till now no one try to fix this problem that I was looking in last update 11.0.3 which was for something else, If it would be not solved it might impact Apple revenue and image big time.

I think dream of having perfect phone and that perfection is missing for which we admire it.

Please take a serious consideration on this issue to fix.

I have an iPhone 7plus and after I updated to iOS 11 my phone started to slow down, including IG, FB, Internet even though you already connected to WiFi and the WiFi is right next to you. I tried to restart everything but seems like still the same. It’s ***** every time thy will release a new phone and they will do an update and they will make the old phone slower so we can buy the new one ... smart right that’s how they make money now this days.

I’m having similar issues with my iphone! Since i updated it, now is not a smartphone anymore but a dumbphone! It’s slower, freezes with any app and when tipying it is slower than a turtlee with anesthesia! I’m also having trouble with the battery, it seems to last fewer hours than before and when charging sometimes it doesnt want to show it is effectively charging.

Dear Apple developers, i’m sure you can do better than this, please we need an ios update fixing this issues asap!!

Best Regards!

I am really ****** off. After update to ios11 my iphone is frozen daily. You have to do a forced restart. And I am not the only one as it seems.

How can a big player like apple release an update with such a major bug? And please do not argue that the technical world today is such a complex artifact that you have to deal with such inconveniences. Apple is earning Billions with its iphones, so I think we can expect an error-free software, at least without major bugs like this. And if major bugs exist after an update - ok, it is not so bad - provided that is going to be fixed the next days (!!)

We paid a large price for this phone, and I do not think it is the right way apple is treating their customers at the moment. I am really thinking of buying another brand next time - probably I am having similar bugs, but I wouldn’t have spent so much money for the phone...

Stivatchssn, I am uncertain of your particular circumstances, but I can assure you what you are reading about other people’s ongoing issues is true. You sir must be a lucky Apple customer.

Personally iOS 11.1 has made what was a bad situation with the earlier releases now almost untenable. The lock ups are much more frequent and now often with a black unresponsive screen.

What really distresses me is that I do not get a sense that Apple is applying any significant resources to address the issues covered here. None of the recent updates have any discussion of most of the matters raised in this forum, and they haven’t rectified many of them.

I have been a loyal Apple customer for many years but I can honestly say this is the worst system upgrade I have ever experienced and for the first time ever I am seriously considering moving to Android to gain some stability with my smart devices. I would not have this thought if I was convinced that Apple acknowledged there were issues and were openly working with affected customers to speedily address the problems.

I guess if enough people walk away from the platform there will be a change in approach.
